Swindy unveiled his 26cm Woody. It's as impressive as it sounds. Post more later, feeding time at the zoo now.

High tide at The Hook with Swindy, Pepe and later Puf-fin. I chucked in the Party Barge FF28 and KaKoncept 8.5. I got it a bit wrong again and was overdone, and as a result I am didn’t manage to dial everything in nicely today. Everything just felt a bit too big and draggy. Towards the end of the session I was playing around with the mast foot position and found the sweet spot for this set up. But of course, by then I was out of go-go juice.

The session itself, was again, surprisingly good for such a high tide and the time of year. The wind and water were just perfect for a warm and cruisey session. Damn good for the soul.

Swindy broke out the Woody26cm. From where I was, it looked to be winner, and since you can’t tell by the look on his face anymore, I had to wait until he was within earshot. I will let him tell the story…

Yet another Top Ten Fangy Day.Laughing

High tide moderate wsw, perfect for Pt Grey fun.

Only Lunny out when I arrived about 230, he seemed to be going well.

I measured 14 to 20kts, so went with the 53, 6.2 and 20cm @ 55d.

A great patch of pure glass coming off the point, unfortunately too broad to follow it far on a wsw, a westerly or easterly would give much longer runs in the smooth.

Not that the rest of Pt Grey was rough, 3cm chop at most, it's just that shhhhhhhh sound is soooo adictive.

Pity hardy couldn't make it over the boat channel!

Coodanup, WA, AU   Pat SL135, KAR 7.9, FF28 Then Pat SL115 and the 26 Woody.

Headed down to fangys with the hope that the wind may appear a bit later, Ross was busy studying the new winter collection blouse catologues but said he would join me later with a coffee and biscuits. Needless to say he done a Slugger and no sign of the coffee or biscuits.

Decided to rig the 7.9 instead of the 8.6 as I was hoping it would get up a bit so I could try out the woddy on the 115, this is the combo I wanted it for as the 24 FF is a little lacking on upwind ability for me, fine with the 7.0 though.

Pepe had launched from S bend and a little later he came sailing in towards me with a spare life jacket on his boom. It was a childs one he had found floating in the water. I just hope he hadent taken the child out of it first. Anyway I releived him of it for one of the grandies and i was heading in anyway to change boards. When I got in fin had arrived and discovered he hadnt got his wetsuit. he was threatening to go out in just his undies so I got back out on the water asap and stayed well clear of him as undies and a seat harness isnt a good look.

Broke out the woody and the 115 and from the off it felt great, its upwind ability was outstanding and no matter how hard i pushed it didnt let go and as I thinned it down a little it didnt feel draggy at all. My first opinion was that the gap between the 24 and 28 was ok and a 26 wasnt needed. I was wrong, for me the 26 is a must on this gear and Fangy has a couple of solid 28's and 24's left that he cant wait to get started on to produce his own woodys in 26 and 22. Now he has all the tips and pitfalls from me it shouldnt take him long to produce them. I know his neighbours have grown to love the sound of an angle grinder.

Had a great time all arvo, the fitness still isnt great hence the poor hour and im pretty sure my best alpha was a tack.

Appart from the lack of coffee and biscuits defo a top 10 fangy day
