Port Douglas, QLD, AU

Have been too busy enjoying the wind to post GPS data - Ed twisted my arm to do so.  This is my fourth day in a row out there in the playground - off Fourmile enjoying the benign tides and the ever-increasing wind strength.  Also chasing down those kite surfers.  Started off on Saturday rigging my 7.8m and having the sweetest sail i can remember - Just enough wind to hook in and cruise around all afternoon.  After that Sunday and Monday changed down to my 6.5 Severne Turbo = single camber and it is becoming my most useful sail.  That camber makes all the difference.  Headed down this afternoon and all hell had broken loose.  Rigged the 6.5 - went down to the water and thought I'd change down to my 6m Gator.  Cranked down, and flattened right out - and about half an hour playing in the muddy - weed infested water I came in and changed the outhaul grommet to the lower position.  My new weed fin from the Seabreeze classifieds is just the Bomb - everyone should have one of these.  Just soo happy lately, I seem to have arrived at that magic point where all my gear is totally sorted out and I can just go out and enjoy myself - no more trips over the front these days.  Ed came down later to have a look = he said it was the best he'd seen me sail - a great compliment from my Mentor.  When i look back four years to when I first started sailing with Ed -] I have really come a long way - and so happy to have got back into sailing after 20 years.  Having a break tomorrow - but if this is any indication we could be in for a Rare season.  Hope youse are all getting out amongst it.

Yer Andrew it was a pleasure to watch. You look comfortable in a choppy sea and a good stiff breeze, and that's what it is all about up here ..Glad your season has been off to a flying start.. I am out this week, board broken and body broken. Hope the rest of the crew can get a blast in while the wind is here.

Nice one Andrew!  Already looking at the forecasts for the weekend...  You should get out there again tomorrow while the wind is up! Cool
