Kyeemagh, NSW, AU 5-12kt NE || Exocet RS6, 10.0 GA Vapor, 49 V-Max

A few light gusts over nice flat water. Managed to get planing a handful of times. A nice quiet bay.

The main goal was to get acquainted with the gigantic Vapor. Managed to gybe it several times, but only while completely sub-planing. A higher minimum boom setting than what I'm used to, but got used to that after a few goes. Just extra important to be looking out the turn right before flipping (I guess). For a 10sq.m sail it's not as heavy as I thought it would be. Big thanks to Wayne (Conan). Also thanks to Andy@WSG for the new boom.

Andrew, nice work getting those speeds in such light winds. And some good circuit work on the inside - interesting tracks!!

Far out Andrew. That's a massive sail. Interesting it felt lighter than you thought.

Power to you!

How is the uphauling? Keep in mind that with a bit more wind it will be really hard: make yourself an additional loop attached to the uphaul  to hook to the harness. Mind you I managed to waterstart the 11, sometimes it's less work !

Looking forward to sailing together in light wind, will bring my 11 not to be outdone Smile

Wow George, that's a monster! Can't wait for a bit of side by side sailing (if I can keep up with you! Sealed)

Re the uphauling. Mostly not enough wind so water starting was basically out of the question.

I had the easy uphaul but maybe it's not set right. Uphauling purely by hand was easier actually. Getting it out of the wtaer (suprisingly) wasn't too bad, but right before garabbing the boom again the luff pocket would power up, making balance pretty difficult, and that's where I kept dropping it. At one stage, I gave up and swam the rig back to the beach. Luckily I kept it all pretty close to shore initially. After I had pulled off a few slow gybes in succession, I ventured a little further out and back.
