Sunday 22nd April – windsurfing * Sunny and hot.

8.45 kt. max, 7.18 kt. ave., 0.47 kt. hr., 0.00 kt mile, 5.50 km., 4.95 kt. alpha.

A day which promised so much delivered absolutely nothing, the forecast 15 mph once again failed to arrive, once again the weathermen are not even close, I don’t know how they can be so wrong! But at least it was sunny and hot and it was nice to catch up with some mates:) Arrived down The Dip at 11.15 with Mag to find a full set of Hurrells and Mark Smalling back after a spell off but the wind was very light so had a nice chat, Swainy came to check it out and decided to go out on his cat. Mag then walked home and we decided to rig, I went with 9.4 and hope that the wind picked up. It was great to see 5 longboards lined up on the beach, all we needed was the wind to play ball, sadly it didn’t! We were planning a trip down the coast; a River Deben cruise would have been good as good tide just too light. We wobbled off the beach in a line and the wind even got less as you went out, but there was a breeze line a mile out but on reaching it, it was still light so decided to head back to The Dip which was a hard run in very light winds, Neil and Lee returned too but Mark and Craig continued towards The Fludgers. Linda Hurrell arrived on her electric bike as did Denise and Jerry so had another chat. Neil then headed off in search of the others in very light winds to be joined by Mark Swain on his cat. Mark Smalling returned very slowly but said there had been more wind the other end and had made it to the docks so I tried again but the wind was still very light so returned and packed up, shame really could have been a good day as the weather was stunning!
