Well that was rough. The only visible flat water was tucked away in a nice little gusty spot. Lots of wrestling with the on/off bullets.

Good crowd though and great to meet a couple of Busso guys.

Pretty rugged out there!

I rigged in a lull, so my chosen combo, M112 + 7.6 TR9 + 33 CL SL2, was a tad large.

No flat water anywhere with the high tide, but hooked some solid gusts and went the butt-clenching bearaway through the moguls.

It was getting really windy, so I called it after an hour.

Bumpy and chop city, great fun on a new toy 2015 Tabou Manta 59, rigged the 5.5 KAR for the gusts  paired with the 59 great combo. Differant feel to the board vs the 61 Manta, very stable eats the chop better than the 61, could well become my favourite for ocean sailing.

A very short session due to power overload combined with some lumpy stuff. Went out with ths combo below but wasn't long before being overpowered, mostly due to the high tide and rough water. Called it a day after a scary launch. Good crowd for a school day.

Hard work today at melville with the wind all over the place. Started off under powered then was overpowered in the squalls. Dont think Ive seen the storm surge this high at melville.

35 knot gusts and the biggest chop I've seen on the river.

Discovered that NMs are slow when I'm mostly in the air Frown

Launching off the back of waves is fun - the wing-fin really helps the board settle quickly on landings Cool

I don't think I would have survived the NM without it.

Had a quick blast on the WindTech proto 57 wide - that board is a boss, it accelerates like a demon Cool

But couldn't adapt to Neil's 20cm harness lines in 30 knot winds so was faster on my 64 wide Tongue out

Point Walter, WA   110L Patrick Slalom, 5.4 NP Evo, 33cm Speed Weed

Should have joined the crew down at Melville.  Was up near Pt Walter by my lonesomeFrown.  Got some good bullets up there but couldn't quite get in the zone.  Very gusty and shifty but had plenty of fun.

Tomorrow's another day!

What a hoot! Bump and jump on speed gear in oceanic conditions on the river. The wind was really solid and I was well powered up on the 4.9. The tide was so high you could almost launch from the grass!

It was well worth a trip home to get my 400 mast. I arrived at the river straight from work, hauled out the board, sail, boom and ... I had not packed the 400 mast. Disappointment! I had taken out the big gear last night and put in the small gear in anticipation of a big blow today but I forgot the 400 mast. Doh! I threw all the gear back in the car, stopped to say Hi to JJ and to meet Windtech, then sped home. At least it was more comfy changing into my sailing gear in the warmth of my windless bedroom than at the beach. Then it was back to Melville. Lack of fitness means the distance was a bit pathetic. I had to stop for a breather at the end of each run, and after a few runs my chest was getting tight and my legs were like jelly, so I thought I'd better stop before I injured myself. Nevertheless, the most fun I have had since Easter, with a good endorphin release from all those jumps, and maybe from being a little bit scared speeding through the chop and launching off the top of it. There were definitely some whoo hoo moments. I am on a high tonight!

I had some funny looks from wavesailors when they saw me rigging a speed board and cammed sail for those conditions. I hate waveboards and I forget that I own wave sails, and as I feel very comfy with the Koncepts it never occured to me to pack one. Anyway the gear combo felt really balanced and the Manta handled the chop with ease. It jumps really well and settles nicely too. My 10 dollar boom worked a treat also!

Could be a top 10 Melville day...

Well done guys, in some very challenging (but exciting) conditions, and as Tim said, a good turnout for a weekday. It was good to catch up with many of you today. More wind tomorrow (and the tide should be lower too).

Anita - Jumping? Whats that...it's been so long since I've tried one I'd definitely stack it. Sounds fun!

I wasn't trying! IThe board was so fast and the swell/chop was so big it was not possible to stay on the water ! I only stacked it once.
