Melville Beach, WA, AU

Very quick sail with Slowy, trying to catch the storm coming through this morning. Both got to the middle of the river and was looking good for a hour session but the roar of thunder made us think twice about being out in this weather. Lucky call as slowy got in alright on the gust which turned out to be the last one for the morning session and I was on the sand bank waiting for a puff to float me back to the shore, all good caught up with Kenny on the shore who was contamplating going out,  but by this time it really wasn't looking to flash. Still nice to get wet all be it for the 8km.

South Fremantle, WA

Foil session in 12-15 - super messy swell and chop.

So nice gliding above it all, although the foil is easily influenced by the changing direction of the under-surface swells, so challenging keeping a straight line in the lighter wind Laughing

Sounds very similar to my experience at Fangys.

Tuttle box forward 12cm !!

I thought I was being daring forward going 2cm.

How is it?

Are your straps in the same place?

Fir yr info, I measured up an RF81 XO Foiler and it had the fin at 195cm centre to tail.

Mike - it takes much less rear leg pressure to maintain foil height now as the rear footstrap is directly over the foil mast.

The straps are in the normal slalom position fore and aft but I moved them inwards as I like downwinding swells and it helps to be upright over the board with both feet in the straps.

Firie - get into it, you'll love it. I reckon Naish and Slingshot are both reasonably priced, fun wave/downwinder foils.

Naish is easy to learn on and has a 10 to 25 knot wind range.

JJ, I've only obsereved foils from a distance, But I always thought the center of lift should  be under the rider, that 12cm would be very close to where I'd put it.
