Sunday 1st July – windsurf *** River Stour Bradfield.  sunny and hot :)

Fanatic Cat with Tushingham Lightning 8.5

10.96 knot max.,9.80 knot ave., 6.78 knot hour, 7.61 knot mile, 28 km., 4.93 knot alpha

Another hot and sunny day at Bradfield but the wind play ball today, patchy and marginal at best, shame really because another good turnout and the beach side carpark was again full! I rigged 8.5 for my big Xantos but after Neil Hurrell returned to change up to 9.4 I decided on keeping the 8.5 but take the Longboard out in hope of the wind filling in. I beat out towards Holbrook but realised I had left my gps behind so returned to get it. The beat was promising, railed up and hooked in and I made it all the way to Parkstone refinery about 5 miles down river but sadly the wind dropped away and the long run back was slow going:( Releived to be back at the van Mag had made a yummy salad. The wind looked to have filled in so I changed to the Xantos but it disappeared before I could get out, so not the action of the last four days but still good to be out on the very warm River Stour. It’s a great place to enjoy a hot weekend away from the seaside crowds, nice to catch up with loads of mates:)
