Fangyland, Wamba Road.

A perfect day for trying out my new SCR 8.5. It remains a mystery as to why I then rigged up my 7.5. Just to compound things I managed to break the batten in the cam and so I spent most of the session retrieving the busted bit and bodgying up a make-shift repair. In the end I plodded around for most of the day, but happily, in the arvo, Jonski packed up and left, and as a result Huey made a halfhearted appearance. That was enough to get a few planing runs on the falling tide and resulting nice water, but similarly to Boombas, there are some pretty dense and scary weedburgs starting to appear.

Looking forward to another splash tomorrow. Top Ten Fangy weekend :-)

Wamba St session in wind much under forecast.

I used the 65, 6.6 and started with the 29@40 but came to a dead stop in the weed at the gybe line, so swapped to the 21@55. Didn't point as well, and still felt a heavy tug going through the denser weed burgs, but didn't feel anything slowing me down in the gybes.

Had a couple of goes at uphauling, to see if I trusted the wind enough to get out of my depth. Failed miserably each time, so I didn't venture into the deep.

Nice to have Fangy, slugger and briefly johnski for company.

Well that's a surprise 45K has just rolled over, thought there was still a ton to go. Must have lost count of the last 3 sessions.

Congratulations Mike inspirational as always. I also found today that the @40 weedspeed wasn’t able to shred the weed and so will revert to the Fangy fins even in winter

Yes John, the weed realy surprised me today, thought I'd be fine with the 29@40, then felt a few tugs here and there, and came to completeb stops coming out of the outside gybes. And coming up covered in weed, that I couldn't see while on the board.

Wow, Mike nice one, only 5000km to go! I reckon you should get the hang of this sport soon Laughing

John, some of those burgs were dense and Sludge said he noticed some decent tugs even with a FF in the slot. ( I think I got lucky and missed them all)

And forgot to say, thanks for the back up from Cap'n and Sludge too. Cool
