Coodanup and Soldiers Cove, WA, AU

Sure was wild out there. Coodanup was quite rough so Woody and i figured we'd meet up with Jonski and Mike at Soldiers cove.

Got very cold in there waiting for the gusts to come through with one good run before calling it quits.

Huge congrats to Ken for his first landed forward loop.

Pretty full on with some huge gusts coming through followed by duldrems. The chop at Melville seems to be much harder to navigate in the south westerly than it is in the NW so tricky to build any momentum today. The outhaul rope broke in one of the gusts, after re-attaching the clue amongst the chop conditions were becoming more of a handful than I needed.

Good to see Boz and Ken baring the cold.

Should have bought the wave board, plenty of confused chop gusty 40kn down to 10kn was an interesting day, a few die hards out braving the cold

Note: Kenny hugh congrats you persisted and it payed off with your first forward, next the doubleSurprised

Tried for the first time the NP Evo6 5.0 in a choppy session with the JP speed 55. Needs lots more tweeking to get comfortable but felt right for most of the gusts. Sank in the lulls. Tempted being close to the pond but thought to leave the nesting birds alone and went to Soldiers Cove instead. Got a few runs with Lunny Mike and Johnsky amongst standing around for ages between gusts. The toes defrosted by the Leach Hwy! Fun day.  Nice run Craig. a record for the location?

Bit of a dud sesh Undecided

Got to Melville at 4 (now that I'm a working stiff again I don't have the luxury of sailing whenever I feel like it).

It was proper windy, so I rigged the 6.6 TR7 + M112 combo.

Massive squall descended at 4:30, which I sat out, then it completely switched off Yell

Pulled out the 137 + 38 fin, in case it came back, which it kinda did, cos I didn't fancy a swim in the approaching darkness.  It came back around 5:30, and I managed a couple of powered up runs before dark.  Did I mention it was farking cold!!!

I think that was the most frustrating session I've ever had. If I wasn't being lifted out of the water sideways in the gusts I was floating around in 3 knots.

Headed up to pt Walter for a look, got an ice cream headache ( from the wind), dumped twice, swore a lot and had my teeth rattle out from the chop.

I was floating about 200m off and heading to the Melville carpark in 3 knots (almost glassy), a gust came through and I got 32 knots in less than 100m. and in seconds i was  completely  overpowered.

But did I enjoy it..? Hell yes. Still better than sitting behind a desk.

WindTech 64 ( which was either too big or too small) 29 cm wingfin ( same as before) 5.8 Ka Koncept ( same as before)

Well done Boz and Cannonball getting 34 knots in the egg carton shaped chop. Great speeds Lunny and Mark. Thawing out after freezing today. Might need a thicker wetsuit. Unfortunately my watch has taken on a little water so cant post at the moment. Hopefully can dry it out somehow.

Mark, looks Like Lunny has the honour, Paul said he had a 39 there, but it's not in his top 5 so is a bit slower than Craigs
