Holloways with Billy and Peter from Tassie.

Wind forecast was up , so decided to take the carbon art SL55 for a run with the Koyote 6.6 and all felt good

but the wind was from the south and with the 34 fin was very hard going getting upwind.

Wind had some bullets in it and the seas were rough out wide .....Billy sailed well and on his carbon art.

Not sure about tomorrow as yet,but maybe a morningish session!!!!

Holloways Beach, QLD, AU

Oohh Surprised, Mr Weather Man didnt lie. Met at the Wallow Pit by 20-25kts - very southerly, maybe SSE, blowing straight up the beach. Met up with Fred and our latest import, Peter Freeman from Tassie - great guy. Great chat.

Just missed the last of the low tide when we hit the water and with the breeze quite southerly it was a real pain bearing off as it would have resulted in a walk home, never the less we perservered in quite trying conditions today. The old CA was a touch wide out there today and tended to slap and was quite hard to control at times. Freddo, on the other hand was the Mother Terasa of the windsurfing world. He had that CA of his just flying across the swell lines. Looked awesome. Managed to sneak a peak of one of his "off the lip" performaces out wide, where it was really honking and had a giggle to myself. Very entertaining.

Shame the breeze was straight up the beach, but otherwise it was a great arvo out on the water. Peter looked like he enjoyed himself.

Used: CA SL108, 38 Sting 2, 7.0 OD M1

Green Island, QLD, AU Gear Jp speed50 E9 6.4m2 Tribal SW 23 .Missed it all .

Worked the morning clinic ,jumped on the 1pm ferry to the island & watched it progressively fade .

Was blowing 28-30 for most of the morning but didnt hang around unfortuntately .

Peaked at ~ 25 knots but lots of holes & as the tide came in so did the chop .

No complaints however-after reading Dave Morehead's post from last week -600klms of driving for 6klms of sailing ...!!!

Port Douglas, QLD, AU..got down the beach after work for a bit of a blast with Andrew..Wind was blowing hard so rigged 6.6m north rig in full crank down mode and only one cam in it..Just how Billy told me not to rig it.Yell..Had the tide from hell running and sea was chopped up to the max,had a good blast fully lit up on 105 FOX...Yer it was rough and wind kept building the whole time, started to get a bit shagged on over powered rig, dropped a few gybes which annoyed me a bit..Did a pit stop before shit started to break..Had a moment of weekness and decided to do a rig change which is something i am usually way to lazy to do..But i am still trying to make friends with new fox board, rigged no cam 5.4 m  North and put a smaller fin in 36cm which is the recomended fin for this board..Kinda small for me Didn't think that board would like a small rig but had to try anyway..wind was gusting 30kts out wide, was totaly impressed how well fox went with small rig in a very stiff breeze and a sea that was as rough as it gets up here,a great way to finish session wanted to keep blasting but it was getting dark and all the dogs had been blowed off the beach..Andrew put in a great effort and went home shagged but happy...it's days like this i am glad i own a FOX...Cheers Ed...

Ed, Wow. A 28 2 Sec - Did mum make you a promise that had time limits on it Wink. Impressive. You should be very happy with all of those numbers. It was really rough out there yesterday and your effort is nothing to be sneezed at. Two thumbs up mate.

Andrew - very trying conditions champ. Keep up the enthusiasm.

Doc - the ever impressive no matter the conditions. Full Tilt McCleod Cool.

Yer thanks Billy was a good blast. Only had one real issue I moved back foot straps right out to the rail as that’s were I usually have them but I found it a little hard it get in to them in a rough sea.think I might move them back in a bit. Looks like you guys had a good session. How come your going so fast.🎯😋👍

Ed, I have always been spurred on to get better. It hasnt always been easy or come easy and when I sit in the shallows of GI, initially in the early days and watching you guys, Freddo, yourself and certainly Kel and Cam, I made a promise to myself to keep improving. It has taken time, but each year I can look back at my figures and say I got better. Small things like "really spanking the board downwind". As Kel would say,"if you dont have dinner plate eyeballs, then you havnt gone downwind". Dont throttle the back hand, that kills speed, make your back hand/fingers play the keyboard of a piano. It works.

The other big one that I failed to ahere to over and over again is "rig to the recommended specs on the sail". Theres a reason for those specs. Like anything Ed, it takes a whole lot of little but important steps and TOW to improve. I wanted to go faster yesterday, but just didnt have the kahoona's to do it - I feared damage. As you experience yourself, it was rough. But, in saying that, we know it can be done. We know that 33 kts is achievable in that slop/conditions, because its been done before and pretty reguarly - so theres your goal Ed, just get better in increments...and you did just that yesterday. Great start mate Smile
