Marion Bay, TAS, AU  End of winter "warm up" session after 2 months not sailing. Steve and Alan also there.  Tricky up and down WSW wind, strong at times, difficult to find smooth water.  Max temp around 8 degrees so didn't take long to cool down after the first swim. Steve was worried about being eaten after the fishing boat cleaning fish in the channel attracted a 2m ffffriendly ffffish, but it didn't seem to hang around.

IS90, Gator 6.5, VWS 27.

Marion Bay, TAS, AU. FF89, Tectonic Speed Demon 19cm and Warp 6.2.

Nice sail with Tim and Allen arrived just as we were coming in. Saw this pretty big shark as I was crossing the channel to go over to the far side. It was on the bottom in some really clear water about 3 metres down. Was facing the opposite way I was sailing and about 5 metres away. As soon as I went past it turned in a split second and then went the way I was going. Didnt see it again. Looked pretty friendly. Same channel Kaleb broke his boom inUndecided

Very sharky there, so not surprised you saw one.  I was walking my gear in waist deep water at Marion and saw a reasonable sized fin with a tail fin further back cruising by only 50 or so metres away! Surprised

Good spot to sail though ..., except across that channel!
