sboardcrazy (24291km): 10-18kts NNE - NE Peel st Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU 7m M1OD - RS4 ( 111ltre) - 24 FF First sail in a NE this season. Got there early and it looked pretty good - 15kts + in the gusts.. got the 87ltre and 7m ready but then it had died so I went out and slogged around for an hr or so. The best speed c 19kts and the fin was too big to go underpowered in the flats ( 10-12kts puffs). The weed was very thick. I was bogging down so I jumped off expecting it to be knee deep but it was thigh deep! Only Barry from Tassie and me out at this stage.. Came in for lunch and it looked like it had improved so back out. The best was probably about 3/4hr from 12.30. I could have used the 87ltre at times but I figured by the time I went in and swapped I'd miss the best of it and then it would die..correct. The 111ltre was slower but more fun . It was too patchy for the 87. Even a patchy Ne is so much more fun than winter wind..I could practise my stance and gybes..Not bad .. It looked like it came in pretty well after 3 pm when Barry & Milsy were out.. Barry , Pugs , Mike and I .Wayne went out for a very short time.
