10-18kts then 15- 19kts NE - ENE Coal Point, NSW, AU

7.5m - RS4 ( 111ltre) - 43cm makani 1 run

then 7m NCX - RS4 - 36cm drake pointer

then RS2 ( 90ltre ) and 33cm makani weedy.

Went out with the big kit and although I could hold it it looked like it was coming in so back in for the 7m. 1st use of the pointer , NCX - RS2 since last season and didn't feel quite right..

I haven't used a pointer since last year and it slid out on the first few runs. I almost spat the dummy and came in for my trusty weedy but perservered. I thought it may have been too small but I think it was floating weed. Once I realised that I kept an eye out for weed and it wasn't too bad. I didn't commit to it  as I didn't trust it and I had issues getting upwind. I think the harness lines needed tweaking too - length and position..

Went for my favourite run to Bolton but it was too patchy and too much north so felt more a work than a reach..

Came in at the end and got the smaller board with the weedy and I flew upwind . It was a much better size. I know and trust that fin!Smile

I only did a few runs as I was too tired. Pretty happy with my staying power for the first session of the season in chop.

22kts certainly feels faster in chop!

I think Andrew should even the playing field by giving me his brand new RS4 .He can have my 2013 one..Wink

Andrew, Tony , Gert , Dave (?) on the kite , Craig , and later Russ and Mick B.

A good confidence builder for the start of the season. It's so nice to have no injuries or health issues ( other than lack of skill and fitness..Wink )

Welcome to Craig Forbes (4bz) who joined the team today. Some of you may not know his name, but most people will recognise his face.
