Quick early arvo sesh in the patchy NWer. The larger board and fin good for the lulls, and 7.0 was spot on in the gusts.

2043 days ago 1 categories Cheeky sail at Foreshore Rd, Botany, NSW, AU, risking the Northerly swinging round late. 122L isonic (held together with carpet tape), 7.7m NP H2 (even more carpet tape!). Gusty? you could say that. The 7.7m was undercooked at 15 knots, then somewhat overcooked at 28kn, gusting 34kn (Red section). That explains the buffeting sensation and the overwhelming feeling of being out of control!!!

2043 days ago So last time I sailed was a W @ Primbee. One upwind session I bottomed out and fell on the sail. All would have been fine, except Most pressure went between my chest and the mast, which would have been fine, except I had a goPro in my chest pocket. X-Ray revealed no fracture, so suspect I just bruised the muscles between ribs. So I took a 4 week break from sailing, helping out with some 'quality' family time.
The Forecast looked good, so I headed off to Kurnell, about noon, to a lull. Vowed to go home and get my foil, then it blew 20+kts, so I went again. Should have packed the foil.
In the end tere was some good strength to the breeze, but a lot of slogging to start.
Exy RS4, EVO46cm and TRX 7.7 (looking a little sad now!).
