Coodanup, WA, AU, I could of gone foiling or maybe Safety Bay where I knew the wind was in but no I chose the stinkfest that is Coodanup. Good to see a few of the Mob out on an almost summers day.

Well a little bit better than yesterday, would have been better still if I hadn't chucked the big stuff out of the wagon.

Nice to catch up with Firie though, especially as he brought some sunshine with him!

Met  eye said the wind was going all the way to Pinjarra, so thought Fangys would have as much wind as Liptons.

But the forecast 20kts at 1200 was only 10, but slowly rising, so rigged the 6.2 on the 53 with the 21cm 55deg deltoid. The 6.6 on the 65 would have been better but they were at home!

Floated around and had even more pumping practice, as if I hadn't had enough yesterday.

Expected the wind to start rising as the arvo wore on, but it dropped off instead. So packed up.

Stretch had been stalled at the Creery end, Johnski even thought about driving up to rescue him. But after we were all downrigged and packed up, the expected wind started to arrive, so Stretch had it all to himself.

Hmmm, maybe shoulda gone foiling but really wanted to catch up with some of the mob for a sail. It was nice to catch up with the local nut jobs again, as usual plenty of laughs, a bit like being in an Asylum not that I'd know.

Not much to say about the sailing, some walking, some dredging, some nut dunking and a bit of cruising trying to stay on the plane. I found my self adusting mast base a help, it would slide to the best position depending on the conditions, or maybe I just forgot to tighten and didn't realise till da end. I was going to test my new GPS but took the wrong car, my other car has a real cool radio with a very accurate GPS with mobs of apps, I just have to work out how to get it into a water proof bag. Good news and bad, good it has mobs of SD storage and as long as you keep the motor going unlimited hours for distance, the bad is it'll need very long wires for doing NM's. I'm confident it'll be the ducks nuts, I'll post my findings on the Breeze when I get it sorted so Mad Mike can check the whatevers and aprove it.

Sorry I bolted before you got out Rob, my nice hot shower and bottle of red was calling me.

CA SL87, 27 Tribal WS, 6.6 KA Konsept, I nearly didn't use protection but in the end decided a rubber this time might be a good idea, no boardies.

Coodanup, WA, AU. Sonic100/GPS7.3/Delta21. Yep, we were all  disappointed the forecast didnt deliver.  It did come in about 15-20 after 5, so I went back out on my pat malone.  Well not entirely alone, I had a very angry Shelduck dive bombing me for company. Had a few nice nauty runs, butstill needed more wind, my board (first sail on the Sonic) felt a bit sticky through the weed.

Windy! Yay!  Best sail in ages.  First time in a nice stready breeze since I don't know when. Fully powered and blasting around.  I was having so much fun.  Would have like to windsurf a little longer but bottomed out in the shallows over at the far side of liptons and enjoyed an evening stroll back to the car.  Was very nice to see some friendly faces waiting for me in the dark.   All good an happy to be home safely now. Thanks to all.

JP SLW & JP Weed 42cm, JP SLALOM & 28cm Pepe Weed, NP RSR E6 7.8m (about 2m more than needed after 5pm).

Arvy session with Boz, Stropp, Oaf, and Yoyo at Liptons.

Got desperate at 3pm as the wind wasn't anywhere near as strong as forecast so went out on for a first run on the big girl, that was after I had to trucge out so far to find a launch spot which the snot fields would allow the 42cm weedy to get moving.

The first two runs across there wasn't much on offer but did manage to get planing, only to find I hadn't tightened the mast base.

When the wind came in it came in solid, the big girl, the big fin and the big sail were getting a bit much for my unfit self, so after a couple of runs accross decided a change down in board size was required.

Went the smaller slalom board, but was feeling fatigued, mainly from trudging through the snot so many times.

Tried one bare away through the weed bank but three looks around the front of the mast at speed gave me more freckle exercise than I realy liked so decided not to do that again.

Another run over and I was jiggered the 7.8m was waaaay to much and I was toooo unfit to make it work. The final trudge back through the snot was the final nail.

All was good at the end till we noticed Paul was missing in action, a quick scan of the estuary with the binoculars found him wading aroung on Pt Grey, as it was almost dark the decision was made to give the water police a call, who were dispatched to form a rescue, thankfully Paul was able to make his way accross the channel without getting blown to far downwind so we canned the call, and thus begun his longer trudge back when he got back it was nicely dark at 7pm. A good result although Paul was a bit bruised and battered.

First strong winds of the season, measured after I got of the water and derigged, 17knots base Gusts to 29knots and a +21knot average over 3 minutes, it was honking out there.

Good times, having your fitness shown to be so inadequate.

Hope you're ok tomorow Paul

A couple of quick videos of the session. They are unusual simply because I am planing!

I am not sure how the forecasters got that one so wrong. I am not even sure who to blame just yet. Post more later when I figure out the answer.
