2018 days ago patchy 5-8kts occ 10- 15kts + slop SSE - E - SSE Coal Point, NSW, AU
7.5m GT Turbo- RS4 ( 111ltres) - 39cm C3 sting pointer
Well I don't know that I enjoyed that much at the time although now I'm fondly recalling a few moments.. Only one out on an empty lake with a creaky boom that made me nervous
Character building..The wind was up and down and swinging and the chop was coming from several directions 1-2' and a few rollers..Belmont Bay flattened out a little. Cold - still 5-4 -3 mm wettie..
I hate getting out of the launch bay at that angle.. I crept past the point in a SSE and went for a nice plane towards Wangi to find the wind had gone E and I had to work back above the point . Then it swung SE and I crept past above the jetties hoping it would stay like that and not swing E again..
Gybes were RS - that board is pretty wobbly in slop with no wind so I stuffed quite a few until I got a bit more proactive. Wind kicked in before the rain as I headed to Belmont - c 18kts and I was pretty maxed out. I'm not used to the pointer and a few anxious moments as I dodged large clumps of floating kelp.
I wasn't game to stop or gybe so I just headed to the slips to stop and wait it out until it dropped..Mmm a long way back to Coal.. I hope it drops! Luckily it dropped just enough for a pleasant run back.
Came in for a break and shared donuts and cuppa with Nic and Andrew.. very nice . Thanks.. Best part of the session..
Back out for another run into Belmont but I forgot to put my GPS back on so you'll have to take my word on the 31kts 2 sec and 20kt alpha..
It was now too patchy for me to be bothered but Andrew was getting some nice flights on the foil. I was almost tempted to convert to foiling until he did a nice stack..( think he knew I was watching and got distracted)..
Maybe it will be better once it decides which direction it is going to blow from..
Ps - my Gt Turbo is now for Sale .Purchased new Nov 2017 . Great nic. I'm upgrading to a new one.
