What a fun session at Dutchies, no one out for the first hour that I was there, wind a steady 15/17, sun out warm enough for a shorty wetsuit. Was a bit bewildered why no one was out until I saw the choppers hovering around, something to do with a whale carcass and shark sightings. One of the best sessions at dutchies, even went for an hour just for giggles.

Lovely cruide today on some unexpected wind. Up and back then a bit of a blast.

Hard to tell what the wind strength was but Jon reckoned about 18 to 20?

Had one ok Nm run but lull killed it . Used the 57 - feels very quick and easy to sail.

Another gusty but fun session with Ben at Melville. Not alot out but better then expected. Bigger board and fin might have been a better choice today.

Super-fun blast on the new Windtech 57 - underpowered but able to tell that the board is a chop-eater and turns amazingly well Cool

1km kite tow - actually worked better than expected, he attached a line from his harness to the rear strap of my board and held on to his kite. I towed him in to shore without falling in - couldn't use the harness so my hands are feeling it Smile

Good to finally get out on the water, in the sunshine before I head back to work for another week, forecast looks great for tomorow and the rest of the week of course.....

Decided to go for an hour, started off well but the wind had dropped a wee bit so it felt like constantly heading upwind for the last part of the hour.

Good to see Tim there preparing his sea legs for tomorrow.

Neil don't worry I had the heli hovering above me, I just though he was being friendlySmileFeel sorry for the poor guy who got towed in by a windsurfer just south of Dutchies, legs dangling like a lure, was probably out abouth 1.5k held on to the back of the guys boardwho towed him in, not sure if it was a kiter who got into trouble or gear failure of a windsurfer.

I would not worry about the shark Neil. With that big, stinky carcass at Dutchies, you aren't going to feature on the menu for a shark. Oh and with that dead whale out there as well, you are doubly safe. Tongue outLaughing

Nice ocean hour, Boz.

Good all round session, Ben. Making the most of the afternoon before heading back to work.

The windtech 57 is a life saver! Well done, JJ.

Most importantly, sharks nil.
