Exocet RF91, TRX 6.3, Naish Foil - Wind SE 5-12 knots

Late afternoon foil.  Wind was stronger earlier but I couldnt get out.  Had some good runs but Byron was making it look way too easy and fast.  Great to see the foreshore full of sails, kites and foils.

Formula HWR, MS 10m. 12-18+  S/S/E. Bumpy and gusty not much fun on a formula board. While trying to get through the mess of wake /swell created by a large fast Cruiser, resulted in an involuntary catapult  type crash. Sounded like something broke when mast hit the water but all was ok except my sore left hand and fingers. Quite a few out today, Kites, Foils, Bump and jump/Freeride and a few crazy guys on Formula .(Left the small gear at home due to the forcast)Frown

Well...wasnt that a surprise! Louy forcast and strong wind. Went from 9-16-ish?...dont know for sure..Anyway, of coure l didnt have a small enough ail but luckily Barry lent me a nice little 6m which beacame not so nice after l put it on the wrong mast and almost all the cambers jumped off it. .however, there was no time to change and l had to use it for the 4 races did. Enough of complaining.. after the first 2 races l started settling into it and went a lot better. ...good fun!

Cripes Byron. You're getting better stats on a foil in the lake than I can on the slalom gear !Surprised

Nev and I were in the start boat. We dragged anchor four times due to gusting to 20 knots southerly ,4’ swells and 50’ cruise boats ploughing through the race field. What a hoot to watch the action from the safety of the start boat. ..and no camera. Caution was the call for the day I imagined for all. It was hard work for the formula boarders with Tibor and Byron on foils. Byron, I didn’t know you could do ....seemingly comfortably, control a Foil formula board at those speeds. .....and those few nasty crashes we seen are all part of the learning game.! Good luck to all future foilers.
