Melville Beach, WA, AU Really blew out the winter cobwebs today, wetsuit is going in the cupboard. Plenty of crew out making the most of it. A bit busy so had to keep an eye out but there were some good runs and the gusts were solid. Tide came in an got a couple of nice runs over the sandbar. Lots of chop out there today but who cares, it was sunny. 97/6.6/27

Well that was a hoot. A solid 20knt seabreeze earlier on and was fully lit on the 7m. Changed down boards to the FF98 for more TOW with this combo. Starting to feel the love with this board but still need to play with a few more different fins. Nice day for good 'ol Melville with plenty out (read too much) enjoying a good slapping.

Nice summery feeling day at Melville with plenty of people out enjoying the gustiness and boat chop.

We sure are lucky in Perth with the options for places to go.

It surprises me often how there are so many windsurfers i havent seen before. I wonder how many are in Perth?

Anyhow, Great day at Melville

Am I the only one who noticed or are there heaps of boats on the river this year? Kiters at Melville beach, powerboats through the channels and yachts everywhere else. You couldn't get a good run without some sort of craft in front of you.

Anyway no flat water to be found anywhere except up at the sandbar at Melville so thought I might improve my 2 sec  but decided to head back to Peli.

Good fun, board is easy and fast but a bit overfinned with a 32. Got a 28 almost ready

Melville, WA, AU,

Started morning at Dutchies and learned a good lesson, leave the ocean to the pro’s. I stuck my tail between my legs and retreated to the relative calm of Melville. It was certainly much easier. Finished with a test sail on Lunnys Patrik 92 certainly gybes like a dream.

M91; OD 6.2; 29 SW

Fastest on the Patrik, thanks Lunny

Awesome foil and slalom session in 20-25 knots. Slalom first, the new Windtech 57 amazing in today's mega chop, just let down by my fin being way too small, had to abort every NM attempt through major spinouts and getting airborne.

At about 3.30 got the new 105L foil board out for a few super-fun downwinders, depowering as much as I could - a 3m sail would have been nice.

Cottesloe, WA, AU/Melville

Started the session at Dutch Inn, was going for an hour and thought I had completed it but when I looked at GPSResults I was short by 5 minutes, ah well wasn't meant to be. Went for a second run at dutchies but the water conditions got too choppy for any consistant run and after talking to  Tailwind we both decided Melville to finish of the day. Melville lots out wasn't going for speed as the Koyote freeride sail is limited, 2 sec, 5x19 alpha best results at Melville 1 hour minus 5 minutes at Dutchies, happy enough that if I kept going would have been another 20 hr on the ocean, Distance rookie mistake tought I had the 123k on the watch but had 17 from a previous that wasn't cleared so only 106 for todays session

Melville Beach, WA, AU M91, 5.4K, 30 Tribal, then 24FF

I never felt comfortable today despite adding more downhaul, changing fins etc. Ultimately I had a big crash on the sandbar mid gybe. I am still not sure what happened but I remember looking ahead mid gybe and finding that unexpectedly, I was heading towards the shallowest part of the sandbar. Just as I was contemplating tightening up the gybe - splat. After that I was aching all over so I called it a day. I went home and straight to bed for a couple of hours but I still feel like rubbish. I can't even blame a weedberg.

The best part of the day was catching up with so many of you. The sailing wasn't doing it for me so I spent most of my time standing around chatting. There are still at least 3 more Pinnaroos to post from Melville. Top team turnout!

Well that hibernation was longer than expected. I blame climate change.

Good to catch up with some Pinnas at Melville.

New gear to figure out.

Enjoyable session if not fast.

105 Rocket, 5.8 Koncept, 19 Delta good for the sandbar but rather draggy so changed to 29 weedspeed

Lots of Pinnas around today, mostly sailing past me.

Good distance Windtech, the new board must have smoothed things out a bit, some good backup for Boz, after a quick 50k's at Dutchies he finished the afternoon off at Melville I am sure he will clock up a century today.

Thanks Tailwind at times I was cursing at the chop and screaming out loud. Yep a grown man shouting at chop...bit of a worry.

Cheers Boz nice distance you got there I was going to go down to Cott but got a call saying it was shite so headed to Peli. I reckon we should have gone to Leighton up at Sandtracks...bit of shelter behind the groyne and could have got some good N.miles?

I reckon JJ got a smoker of a 2 sec at Cott. I heard it was super choppy.Nice one Jon

And agreed Lunny, heaps of new faces at Peli? And a few young girls n guys too . Good to see.

Leighton was the go Neil, was going to sail upwind but JJ needed to get used to the 57, he was doing a good job of it too. 30 was on the cards today for a NM at Leighton, I will have to wait for the race sail though, the free ride is great but slower by a couple of knots. Well that’s my exuse :)

Andrew dutchies is a learning curve for gear selection, a similar day a couple years ago I took my 5.7 North race sail and got my ass kicked the first time out, one run out then in and I was spent, nowadays it’s a bit easier, ocean sailing is a adrenaline rush on slalom gear when you get used to it😁😬

Great work guys, improving our scores in all categories on a day where it was windy but not all that flat, with lots of boat chop.

Top team turnout! The best part of the day for me was chatting to so many of you.

Thanks to everyone who put in the hard yards going for distance today. Big effort Boz, with fine backup for Lunny, and Neil, who scored a PB in the process. Congratulations, Neil! That nm through the chop must have been exciting.

Nice speed there in the rough stuff Flash Gordon. Wasn't a lot of wind to accelerate in the smoother bits especially for your massive torso. It picked up a little and got super smooth after we packed up...  next time.

Crimson Flash, Congratulations on the hour PB. That shows either your stamina or your gybing is improving - probably both! Good work in Sunday's chop.
