First time sail at silver sands, wasnn;t feeling all that flash with a 3 day headache, but Stropp and Slugger talked me into it.
Breeze was a bit flukey on the inside and gusty on the outside, I didn't have the desire ofr the skill set to go aut as far as Stropp and Tom so I just stayed in close to shore with Simon.
The waves didn't look much from shore but out there they were more than big enough, surprised myself with being able to deal with it reasonably well. Waves (not breaking ones) seem to me a bit easier to deal with than boat chop which being shorter tends tpo hit the foil harder.
Seriously unfit as I was blowing hard after 20mins, was fun though sailing back and forth pasiing Simon on the opposite tack, was having a bit of fun using the waves a bit.
Second part of the session didn't quite go to plan, the wind had swung got a bit lighter but gustier. On the way out got on the foil went to do something the Huey smited me, I can only take Simon's word for this as he tells me I did a jump, which I suppose is right as it allowed me to crash with more vigour.
Got back on the horse up on the foil and Huey goes for double or nothing and smited me again, that one hurt a bit. Draging my now bedraggled red furrry arse back on the board I notice a nice finger length split on my windward rail happily bubbling away.
Thus ended my session.
Fun getting the foiling kit in through waist high shore break.
More fun tonight panel beating the accumulative damage.
Oh well whatever doesn't kill you just gives you bruises.
Johnski turned up late and put on a great display, his last run out was Awesome, great flights over the chop , a breach which he controlled nicely and kept flying and a breach and dent which kept his shore bound audience amused. The speed people picjk this up is amazing and embarrasing.
