Sailquik (29582km): le angle but quicklySandy Point. Vic A day that promised much and delivered little, except a bit of fun. Didnt get in until about 11 am becasue of the high tide. Sailed until about 4pm. The wind started at WSW and reasonable, but quicly swung to almosy dead west. from then on it was a very short and very broad run right at the top of the course in turbulent wind. Good to see some new faces making the track to Sandy Pt from Yarrawonga and Sydney, as well as a few faliliar ones. None of the regular PiT crew though! Started on slalom board and 2019 5.7m koncept, and had a couple of nice runs peaking at 37-38 knots. Realise it would be OK for the speed board and switched to CA40 and 5.2m Koncept. Unfortunately, the wind was by then too west, but it was fun anyhow. Later we tried some runs up the Yanakie channel, It was 'interesting'. There was a rolling wave under the flat water but still did a few 35 knots runs on the Slalom baord. Now the wind had kicked in to 25-30 gain and I was fully lit (and more) on the 5.7m, but it was nice to see how well the sail handled it.I would definitly have been struggling more on my previous 5.8's. Ashley broke has mast down the Yanakie end and I went around in the car to pick him up. RDM's are the go! Craig thinks he got a PB top speed and seemed to be haviong a great time! IS87, Tribal weedspeed 26cm, 2019 KA Koncept 5.7m Speed. CA40, Tribal 18sym, KA Koncept 5.2m speed.
