Bit of a play on the new toy, haven't sailed since Nov 5 so a bit rusty. Autumn/Winter storms have been noticebly absent this year so one grumpy Roo hopping around over Christmas. Finally a decent forecast showed up a few days ago so loaded the SubaRoo up with the goodies and off to ARooBar.

Not enough wind for the little Mistral Speed board so Kermit, the lean green flappy tail machine from a land down under was the weapon of choice. Figured the wind may fill in so rigged the 5.6 EVO8 for a bit of squirt. Huey took his time coming to the party but it gave me a chance to tune up Kermi! Lots of playing with mastfoot postion and tail stiffness. Finally found the sweet spot for the continuous rocker and got it dialed.

Nice fang with a 38.022 knot peak, not bad for first time out and being underpowered. Figured I'd try a jibe as I was getting bored with the light wind....holy molley a 24 on the first go around. This thing is like a go-kart...it just turns so easily and super smooooooooth. Once I'm back in shape this will be a weapon, should be able to knock over my 26.96 knot alpha in 2019. I reckon Kermi is good for the low 40's on the old gps dial....can't wait.

Roo, nice to read that you got some water-time, finally Smile

I was not aware of the WindTech technology. Will be interesting to follow your exploits and evaluations during this next sailing season.

Not sure if there are any other boards like it around in the USA. I was involved in the development of the old Mistral Challenge Flex back in the late 1980's so this new adaption of the idea piqued my interest. Even better was that Neil at Windtech seems to be the last windsurf shaper still using a continuous rocker line like Jimmy Lewis used on his Mudshark speedboards....they were my all time favorite rides (picked up 2 mint ones recently). I have a feeling Kermit may be just like that. Can't wait to ride it more and find out. Hope to see you on the water in 2019 Barton.

Nice numbers Kean.  You've got the boys over here fired up and it's going to be interesting.
