I nice way to start the new year. Beautiful bluebird day but very light WSW breeze so I dug out the old 2008 9m Koncept I remembeered I still have and went for a cruise on the SB Go. It was actually the nices sail I have had in a very long time. Just cruising around, upwind and downwind, even a few planing gybes.
I had never used this sail much as it feeis too heavy on my 110L slalom board, but it suites to Go perfectly. I think I might have finally figured out how to rig it best as well.
The Drake Go 560cm fin had a stripped nut so I had to use the Formula 70cm Drake. It worked incredibly well, much to my surprise and certainly got me going earlier. The is quite a lot of drag once planing though and I stuggled to get much over 20 knots.
It is great in such light winds because the water was virtually flat everywhere. The biggest waves were from passing power boats.
It was avery nice run to the entrance and back as well with only a couple of tacks up the narrows and a nice NM run back from the turning bouy.
10-12 knots with the odd puff to 14.
