I almost didn't bother but I'm so glad I did! Nicest sail I've had for a long time.
Got there and it was 5-10kts in front of Coal and very patchy. I could see it looked a bit better between Coal & Marks Point so I figured I'd give it a go and maybe get a few planing runs..Turned out it was a pretty consistent 12-17kts and I planed 90% of the time. Other than when the yacht race went past on their way to Pulbah and back there was no boat wake and the lake was pretty flat with even a few good flattish areas..
Nothing like a cold day and overcast to get rid of the rif raff.. The boat ramp was deserted.
It was lovely resting at the sand islands and I pushed myself to gybe more powered up and I'm very happy with my progress..still a work in progress though. A bit disapointed in the alpha as I did a planing one over at the sand islands and I was nicely powered on the legs so I was hoping for an 18 +..It was too wide as usual..
Very nice.. So nice to have 22 degrees after 42 degrees yesterday..
Only me .
