Pleasent crusie up to Melville and back, and a blast with some other folk at Peli.

City Beach, WA, AU  That was the most hectic bit of ocean I have sailed in a long time. Now I see why we all used to train out there in the 90's

There was swell with chop in the troughs and on the peaks and chop on the chop and a nasty little shore break. I was in the air more than the water. Matt Holder said he could have got some great forwards out there. A quick hour and a bit , pointer fins and weed. Could have gone for it a bit more but fairly treacherous ...next time.

I'm putting down a challenge for a good Nm out there....

Pinnaroo Point, WA, AU

Fun little LOC warm-up sesh at Pinnas in a better than expected seabreeze.  Pretty steady around 18-22K and I was nicely powered on the M112 + 7.6 TR9 + 33 Tribal WS combo.

I wanted a sesh in some gnarly chop to get into the right headspace for tomorrow, and there's nowhere gnarlier in Perth metro than Pinnaroo, so mission accomplished Cool

Lovely conditions, and I'm feeling good about competing tomorrow, so hopefully we get some good breeze.  A carbon copy of today would do nicely Wink

Ah Neil that brings back the memories of City Beach shore break and trashing my brothers gear ( I took the nose off his new Windtech when I misjudged the run in)

Neil - I'm in the City Beach NM challenge - what's a realistic target, 29? Laughing

What's not to like about "hectic, treacherous" chop? Tongue out

You're an ocean speedster Firie - might be right up your alley too...

Fangy now I understand why you sail Coods only, it must have been a traumatic expierance all those years ago, you can’t live in fear of the ocean😁embrace your fears come down to city beach and let Doctor Boz help you to help yourself😬 Neil hell yes count me in😎

Boz my childhood and teenage years were spent at City Beach. All the beautiful guys and gals were there. The only fear I have now is an arvo with that creepy old Dr Boz bloke at CB will forever taint my fondness for my childhood haunt. Plus I couldn't face Neil now that he knows I wiped out an elegant Turkish Slipper nose that he probably spent hours shaping to perfection. Laughing

Oh by the way JJ ..29! Not a bloody chance in those conditions. Just finishing a Nm without an incident is an achievement.. Leighton is like a day off compared to CB. The Groynes , swell, shorebreak backwash and shallow outer reef makes it daunting. But it'll put hairs on your chest and give you a deep booming voice......

Fangy maybe you were there when all the legends were testing/training? Scott Mac, Steve Allen, Peter Forslyn, Dan Engdahl, Per Anderson occasionally Anders and a few I forget. With me tagging on behind pretending ...that shorebreak even nailed a few pros... were you a local lad? Come on up for old times??Wink anyway I forgive you....but now I see why that Turkish slipper nose was there.

See you down there Boz, but before you get too cocky...maybe check it out first. Even Matt Holder who has pretty good aerial skills was tested to his limits and most of the time above 25 knots in the air is where you are.

Funnily enough, Neil, I am at CB now, just looking after my Dad for a few days. This morning I went for a drive down with Dad, all the way down to south CB nudie beach end and back. I gotta say those pictures they have of Dr Boz on the signposts at the nudie beach entrances are of fabulous quality, not like your usual Identikit sketch.

My brother was hitting CB a lot more than me way back then. I had my Lindsay Park board and was crashing around at Pinnaroo Point ( back when Hillarys and Geraldton were considered much the same thing.) I was very enthusiastic about windsurfing, it was a pity my ability wasn't in the same league. My brother had two Windtechs and they were like Concorde's compared to my B52. Unfortunately, the Concorde analogy keeps going, in that I had a blowout and failed to fly on the way out through the shore break and got smacked. The board copped the mast across the nose and snapped it off. My brother thereafter had only one Windtech board, and a few extra $ in compensation, whilst I got to keep the other one.

I moved to Mandurah, stuck the nose back on and went sailing off Blue Bay. I impressed the crowds on the beach by sailing at speed into a cray pot rope and yet again, got launched and yet again snapped the nose clean off. The board still lives, albeit with a relatively stubby nose, and it never fails to remind me I am not worthy, and hands out copious punishment as retribution for pretending that I can sail. So, it's probably more your fault that I sail at Coodanup.  But don't worry I won't tell that Creepy Old Guy who lurks in the dunes at South City Beach. Laughing

Great story Ross, seems like too short ago that we were young and carefree. I guess I would have known your bro? His first name..??

I thought those signs of Boz had 'WANTED' below them but I could be wrong... he was hiding in the dunes but the ciggie smoke gave him away...Foot in mouth

Even though no where near as fast as you JJ, the Ocean Nm was my favourite thing but now days I'm a would be if I could be, my rough water sailing and confidence has gone to shit Frown

Fang, I don't want to picture chicken legs Boz down at the nudie beach, a tight black rubber is bad enough Laughing

Firie, don't make the mistake of searching "Boz Black Rubber Fetish" on the web. I thought it would be a laugh. It isn't. Not even close. And once seen, somethings cannot be unseen.

I currently have a fork in one eyeball and several stab wounds to my face where I have missed the other eyeball. (Just as a hint to the uninitiated at eyeball stabbing - if you try to do the second eyeball in front of a mirror, remember the image is reversed.)

Ross' Dad here - Sorry Slugger my idiot son has been playing with sharp things again. He has been a bloody nuisance ever since he saw Edward Scissorhands as a lad. Anyway, he can't read real well at present, so I recited your post to him. I think he is winking back at you, but he may just be passing out again. As helpful as tits on a bull this one, and that's on his good days. My other son, perfect.

Ross back. Having Stevie Wondered myself, I am using Siri to dictate my post. I can't proofread it, so apologies for any mistakes. I like Neil's idea. We could do a show also about nothing and see if we can get it past the magical 50 posts for one session mark. I have Fairybob down as Kramer, and Slugger down as George, Remery as George's father, but how do we feel about Boz as Elaine?  To quote Seinfeld "none of these people are master of their own domain"
