GPS day 1

7.5m GT turbo- RS4 ( 111ltre)- 43makani weedy

Very weedy.The fin was catching weed today.. maybe because I was going slow? 12-15kts speed?

 I wasn't going to race but I went out just before it started and was nicely powered up so I thought why not..Went into the point just as everyone else was leaving for the start line. It had seemed to be coming in so i made the mistake of depwoering the sail by changing the clewhole..Should have left it as I wasn't that powered up and off the plane a bit. I was wondering why I couldn't get going at times and then realised I was trailing weed so jumped in and cleared the fin 3 x. I was miles behind everyone else over the line and last all the way but that was nice and I didn't mind the race.

 Stayed out afterwards and did my usual thing a bit chopped up with boat wakes.

 Something big c 4' jumped out of the water above the point..not sure what it was but when I muffed my gybe I got back on the board pretty fast..Came in for a break and then out again as the others went for the slalom. Light but some ok wind at the sand islands so I did a few laps and had a powered run back. Boy my back legs cramps / aches doing the nm in chop..

Glad the guys got a slalom race in as well.

 light and weedy but we got one 30 min GPS race in and one down wind slalom race and the wind turned off like a tap such a shame yesterday was so good we just havnt had the stromng NE breases this year.

great to see everyone which is what GPS race weekend is all about.

last round of gps & slalom. biggest gear 7.8 112 & 35 tech weedy.

a bit light got 1 race done, then rested a bit. then tryed slalom, i couldnt get to

the start in time, to far up wind for amatures. i ended up walking up the shallows

from another island.

GPS event. GW60 failed again losing around half of my travels in the half hour GPS. Shame about the wind and the weed. Great to hang out with everybody.
