Stanley, TAS, AU, First sail for the year, nice to be out on the third channel with Baz.

Rigged the Mach 2 for the first time, it is a little different than the R8.

It looked great and felt nice and light while converting the power into speed really well.

Managed a low 40 on the first run, the second run peaked a low 43, but had heaps of trouble slowing down before nealy running into the sandbank

at probably 25 knots.

Did a few more runs and a couple of alphas.

Went in with a plan to sail the first channel when the tide came in, the wind dropped so that was it for me.

Stanley, TAS, AU Interesting session with Cookie and Stewart from Lonnie. Some flat water in the Third Channel to begin with while the wind was straight East. It swung a bit to the north, starting getting choppy, and I was working hard to stay in control.  Wind dropped right out for the First Channel, so borrowed Cookie's new 6.2 Mach 2. Not enough wind to get it loaded up, but it was nice to get the feel of the Mach 2. Such a classy machine! Thanks Cookie.

W54 5.1 od, then 6.2 Mach 2.

Marion Bay, TAS, AU  Squeezed in a quick light-wind sail while the kids and dogs were mucking around on their big boards in the lagoon Laughing. Nice to get on some different gear.  Unfortunately my carbon boom let off a "gunshot" crack sound and then went all floopy while loaded up on a reach (the failure probably initiated on Friday with the catapult and face-plant at 35 knots).

Nice one Cookie, great top speed and first go on the MACH2.  Bummer about the boom Tim!  I saw that catapult on Friday and waitied to see if you stood up after it (which you did)!  A big splash!

I was also wondering if I would be able to stand up! Luckily I had already unhooked on entering the super-flat water just in case so ended up just flying forward rather than truly catapulting, but the rig did go down very hard. Yes a shame as it was your old superlight boom!
