Melville Beach, WA, AU

A real summer sail shorts and t shirt, ripples on the water and Anitas wind gauge showng 12kn it was time for the big gear the 7.1KAR and the huge 59 wide 88l Manta, I'm sure Anita thought I was mad and would sink all but for a special strain of Bozium double + which fools people into thinking there is little wind the Manta was up and running on the first puff of wind. The breeze did fill in a bit and the water was about as smooth as you get at Melville. Good to meet Scott who came up from Peli, Kenny the Alpha was at Macca's I thinkLaughing

Melville Beach, WA, AU iS111, 6.8 Loft switchblade, 24 FF

Wind was looking marginal mid afternoon, and rather than run the gauntlet of Fangy's attack stingrays on my own I thought I'd inject some Boznium into my day with a Melville session.

It was only 10 - 12 kn gusting to 15 when I arrived, and Boz was surveying the scene and deciding whether there was enough wind for a worthwhile session. Boz was very optimistic going out with 7.1 and his 88L Manta, but a bit of pumping and he was on the plane and off. The wind it built up a little as the afternoon went on to maybe 15 - 18kn. The water was very flat, there was just enough water over the bar, and the wind was less gusty than usual. I even did some planing gybes I was happy with. I struggle to get a 17 kn alpha at Melville, so I am happy with that. It is always hard to get wind in and again on the way out at Melville, and that was the case again today, otherwise I think I would have been nudging a PB. Max speed in 23.6, max speed out 20, min speed 5.6. I did do an 18 kn alpha but it was too wide.

Possibly a top 10 Melville day.

Pelican Point, WA, AU             Nothing to see here...move along.

A 'cruise' around Melville waters on big gear. A lot of fun actually.

Pelican Point, WA, AU

Fun session with Grant and Vincent ripping past me, which motivated me to try some changes - footstraps further back and pointer fin - much better.

Unfortunately both G and V were off the water by the time I did this, so I can only say it felt faster. Will have to see next time.

125 Rocket, 7.5 Turbo, 33 sw then 40 pointer.

Good to see Neil also having fun

After work sesh at Dutchies.

It looked fresh when I arrived, so I rigged my go-to Dutchies combo for 18-22K...M112 + 7.4 Koyote + 33 Tribal WS.

I should've factored in the late arvo fade, cos ten minutes into my sesh I was already running out of juice.

By 5:15 I was slogging, so I was heading in to grab the big M, when a few nice puffs came through around 5:30.  Managed three under-powered runs out and (almost) back before it faded again, and I slogged home in 15K.

Still a nice sesh overall, it doesn't always have to be a white-knuckle adrenaline fest, and it's good to learn the limits of the kit.  I managed to coax the set-up onto the plane a few times in very marginal wind, and when I was planing it was really lovely out there Cool

JJ did upbraid me for not being more diligent with my foiling Embarassed , so maybe it's time to break out the foil again and make the most of these marginal wind days.

Fun session on the big gear. Good to meet Boz at Melville. It appears that in low doses, Boznium can have a positive effect as my best 500m run was immediately after 'exposure'. Absorption over longer periods may yield different results.

Windxtasy please do not go injecting Bozium into you, your day or anywhere for that matter...

In good news, Windtech and I have crunched the numbers and after extensive GPS testing,  it seems the best nauti mile to be had on the way to the Windtech Factory of Floppy bits, is the stretch on West Coast hwy from Oceanic Ave lights to The Boulevard lights. You get a nice flat start and then a sweeping downhill power drive and then tops it off with another flat run to the finish. Laughing

SRS73 and other bewildered newcomers, just take a moment to admire the selfless acts from the Mandurah Mobbers to help those that are less fortunate and have made poor life choices.Innocent

congratulations on two more PB's SRS, a healthy set of numbers there for a moderate wind day, and good to see you seamlessly getting into the banter.

I've done that run Fangy but there can be a bit of a bottleneck or lull around the Floreat turnoff..you have to watch out for the endless stream of kiters driving back to C Beach after their downwinders to Scarbs.......always in the way!

Guys for the record Bozium seems to affect only those that possess 24 pairs of chromosomes, anecdotal evidence seems to suggest this is common occurance around the Coods Area, take care even though this condition cannot be passed on it can be harmful. People affected with 24 C can be recognised when in close proximity, the subject becomes irritated and in a show of strength beats there chest😁

The new element SRS73 could be best thing since the discovery of Boznium! Maybe if the 2 combined could be invincible.

Boz that is total BS. You know I can't beat my chest anymore because the constant dragging and gravel rash on my knuckles makes them too sore. Besides these beautiful Manboobs are for 'display purposes only'. Kenny I would like to help with your new element but I am busy driving my vintage German tractor again, doing NM training for the Windtech City beach NM challenge. Turns out you don't actually have to do you NM on water, asphalt is fine too.
