Went down to Carlisle st but not much parking near the beach so opted for the "kite" pond. Looked like 100s of kites in that small area.
The Wind looked strong from the shore and a few others were rigging 4.7s but ended up being underpowered. I went with the 6.2 and glad i did.
Lots of weed floating around which probably took a knot or 2 off my speeds. Needed a heavily raked weedy today. First run out in the pond and a kite nearly landed on me (same as last time here) so promptly headed for Penguin island. Tide was high and the sand bank was about neck deep so no flat water anywhere. A fun session but pretty buggered afterwards. Would have been good wind for the slalom race today.
6.2 Overdrive, 25 tribal weedy, sonic 85

125 Rocket 33 sw What a difference 10 cm extra width and 35l extra boyancy made.
Good to see Boz, generally going well as usual, but wirh occasional impressive sinking.

Final round of the Safety Bay slalom for this season, and we had great conditions again, around 17-22K.
I rigged my 7.6 TR9 and had both my M112 and M137 on the beach, but as it was a bit on the light side I raced with the big board all day.
Hard yakka with a full six rounds of racing.
Not my best day out, I got cleaned up by another sailor in Round 3, an oblivious free sailing windsurfer forced me wide of a gybe mark in Round 4, and, after 4 heats without a dropped gybe I dropped two in Round 5.
Still lots of fun, and pretty happy to have managed four rounds of SB slalom racing this season, as well as events at Leeman, Cervantes and the LOC. It's really good to have some regular racing in the calendar
