Safety Bay, WA, Sonic 90, Koncept 6.6, Slade 29

Woooohooooo. First time outing at Safety Bay and two PBs!!Tongue out

A few Pinnas in attendance, Lao, Snake and Windxtasy. Thanks for the loan of the fin Lao.

Jemma (212km):

My first session since I was 15 weeks pregnant!

I was very nervous and wondered if I could still sail, but it all came back to me and I had a great time. I'll have to work up to trying some gybes again soon.

Chris is a LEGEND for playing rig bitch and looking after Arie while I had some fun.

Chris Porter (11725km):

Quick blast at Melville after rig bitch duties. Much better than Thursday, but still some Mc Mansion sized holes in the wind.

Good to meet Damo!

Safety Bay, WA, AU   20 - 25 knots

A good team turnout at Safety Bay. Too windy for my 5.7 Koncept today, so no PBs Frown

Still managed top 5 scores in 4 categories though, including my second best 2 sec, 5 X 10 & distance. Could have done better if I'd discovered the speed run before I got tired.

Sonic 85, 5m Koncept, 24 weedy

Thanks Mark for the loan of your sail, and your favourite fin (He took it out of his board and sailed with a lesser one). You are a true gentleman. Thanks also for passing on your pearls of wisdom. They will sink in eventually.

Nice to meet Adam out on the point, even though he tried to tell me that all our scores today should be credited to the Mandurah Mob as they've claimed Safety Bay as their territory.

Great to see you back on the water Gemma, and congratulations on the PB's! Not rusty at all it seems.

Congratulations also to Damo and Macka Packa for your PB's. Don't they feel good?

A good team session all round. Good to see so many of you out sailing today.

Pelican Point, Bombora 135, 6.8m

Great fun at Pelican's. Everythign was just right. The sail size, harness position, the wind...The gear felt balanced. No fin slipping, no pulling with one or another arm. Just great.
When more gust means more fun and more speed instead of more fear and more panic.

I haven't had so much fun for some months.

Manta 69, NP V8 6.5 - Melville - Wallyworld return run

Very patchy breeze with some nice squirts up to 25knots, mixed with a few massive holes in the breeze.

Fun fun fun.

Great arvo at safety bay with Mark, Patrick, Anita, Adam and later Greg. Sailed from around midday until dark. All the best speeds came from the 6.3 which I rigged a little tighter than usual and it felt great off the wind. Congrats to Patrick who bagged a few pb's on the speed run!! Well done Macka! Happy with the numbers all up it was a fun day and thanks to Adam for the shots Wink

Wooohoooo.  SmileLaughingCool

Awesome sesh at Safety Bay.  Haven't sailed there before (use to sail the waveboard at Pengo's when I was a young tacker, but never in the pond).  Don't know why I've taken so long to get around to it.

Solid 20-25K and plenty choppy with the high tide, but heaps of fun.

93 S-Type + 6.4 Koncept + 31 JP weedie.  Combo was sweet.  Could've held onto the 7.0, the 6.4 was a bit lacking in grunt at times, but with the mad chop and sizey swell outside the pond the smaller rig was comfy.

Blown away by the Snake.  Mate that is an awesome set of numbers and I'm gobsmacked by your distance.  I feel worked over after sailing less than a third of that.

Went for a few bearaways and got one good peak, but mostly just blasted around and went for a few alphas.  Underpowered in the pond, and my gybing on the outside wasn't good enough to nail a good one.

NM was fun.  Sailed up to Pengos and blasted back bearing away into the pond.

All round a killer sesh Cool

Great to see so many Pinnaroos reprazent today, great team outing.

Well done Macka...challenging conditions to be scoring PBs.  Wait til you find some flatter water!

Woohooo, team! Great session with 10 PBs!Cool

Fantastic to see Jemma getting back on the water and 3 Pbs to boot!Cool

Macka, a big speed comeback. +1.5 on ave and .5 on peak. 2 years since the last ones!Cool

2 Pbs for Obelix and DamoCool Great to hear you are still having fun on the bombora, Obelix. Wait till you get the carve tuned in.

Nice Naughty mile from birdman!Cool

Brilliant to see Windxtasy looking comfy coming down the speed run over the bar broad off the wind. Top 5 scores, well done.Cool

Nice session, Pointy with some great back up for the Snake.Cool (Sorry for the overuse of the emoticons but this team session deserves it)

I yet again got shown how to sail Sbay by the Snake. Brilliant set of numbers, mateCool Hope you could still see when you packed up.

Never really felt powered up. Tried lots of tweaks but it didn't really come together. Probably should have started with the sonic not the nonose. I really thought it was going to kick in. Speed runs never had enough grunt.

Had a 24.3 alpha at 53 metres but still really struggling to get the speed across the wind on a weedy. Tried different lines and both inside and out. Best run was in to the pond nonose and 24 banshee. Changed to the sonic at  the end.Happy with high 14 min speeds and still a top 5 score but the Snake has raised the bar with his 25.5+ most sessions down here. Must do betterYell

Naughty mile run was wild. The nonose really is not designed for open ocean broad off the wind sailingSurprised

Just finished typing this the first time when I got the Windows blue screen of death!Yell

Warp6.3, nonose, yoyo 27(best speeds), elmo banshee 24 (best alpha), sonic 100, elmo 29

If anyone finds my Mojo could they please return itCry

On ya crew, great to see some of the team post back in PB territory, and some action shots of the guru's in action to boot .Smile

Jemma, so good to see you haven’t lost a fraction, posting PB's first session up since the baby, well done Cool

Sounds like you all had a great day. Wind did come in here at Fowlers Bay late, but talking to Jamie, the Park owner, there are a few ugly’s in grey suits about,Surprised so I stayed safe up on the jetty with Joan. Maybe in the shallow section of the bay tomorrow....maybe Laughing

Mark I hear ya on the alphas.  I got a few nice gybes (min speed 13-14K), but entry and exit speed was low.

I needed a bigger sail (should've been on the 7.0) and a pointer to crank across the breeze.

Still I can see the potential and on a lower tide it would easier to go fast there sailing square.

Ian, your more than welcome, join now, as it wont matter, and you can submit sessions from any place you sail. Me I have submitted from Streaky Bay South Aus only last week. Smile I must have missed you in December when I came through and had a session with Sausage and a few of the lads at Yapoon.

Huge congratulations to all the PBers - I think 10 PBS from 10 team posts is a pretty awesome statistic !

Had some pre booked arrangements that kept me of the water or I would have ruined the stat.

Mineral, so glad to see that being half a continent away doesnst stop the recruiting !!!

Thanks for the invites. Not many poeple windsurfing around Yeppoon let alone speed sailing so I can't wait to get more involved.

Mineral, I missed your Yeppoon visit. I was sailing your home ground when you were here sailing with my arch enemy SausageLaughing. I spent 6 weeks in WA checking the place out before I decided to move over there. Think I have a job confirmed now so just have to sell the house and I'll have my skates on and heading for WA.

Should be there in time for winter. Thats the windy season right?Wink
