Melville Beach, WA, AU  85 Sonic, 5.7K, 28 vector

Went out today with the mission of a top 5 nm to complete my set of top 5 results for the month. Wasn't expecting a PB! What a squall! Whoo hoo! I was screaming along in the troughs and at one point the sail even went light even though I was only just off the wind. I could hear Ricey screaming along just upwind and behind me. The 29.6 peak was part of the nm. Pity the first part was dogging upwind. I should have kept going longer (wish I had, it would have been at least a 24!!!), but it was close to a white out, hard to pick the line between the swells and I was past Majestic Point and thought I might have trouble getting back. Next time! As it was the wind swung and dropped and it took me at least half an hour to tack back upwind. It's a long way from down there!

29.3 is my second best 2 sec, and my best for the river. Closer to that 30.

Busted that NM at last - with the Isonic.

I then took the F2 81 and caught a squall to get 36 on the display, but it ended suddenly leaving me floundering in the middle of the river off Majestics.

Managed to grovel/swim to Pelican Point eventually the wind came back a bit, but still pretty much had to grovel all the way back.

Still a happy day!

Safety Bay, WA, AU

yes, yes i thought i was lacking some pride so i went out and bought some

hence my pretty nice sesh was cursed to end prematurely

broke the bottom batten Cry oh well got an alright sail in before hand

wind was quite west which made for some fun conditions for an open ocean NM, i think this is a pb for me, needed more tuning could have gone faster

very interesting how different the pryde sails to a severne, took some time to get used to

all up an alright sail for the first time out on new kit but a little disapointing that i already have to make a new batten

5.5 rsr evo ii, 90 mistral sl, 24 custom weedy

board and sail + a 30cm pointer will be an insane alpha combo

Congrats Anita, nothing like home turf!

I only got a 29.18 at Fatboys, so you made the right choice!

It was no where near as flat as I expected it to be in weed free areas.

So before we got on the water JJ said to me, "30 today Anita!" And I said, "oh I'm not even going for speed today I just want to get a top 5 nm to complete my set." So JJ says, "That sounds good, I might do that too". Obviously it was a good plan. Well done JJ. 30nm, Awesome! It was getting caught grovelling out in the middle past Majestics that concerned me, but I AM REALLY ANNOYED with myself for not keeping going!! Next time.

Thanks for the congratulations everyone, your support means a lot. I think I made some big breakthroughs today, so that 30 should be doable given enough wind. I felt really uncomfortable at the start of the session - I haven't used the Sonic in so long, and it wasn't until just before that nm run that I finally got everything balanced.

I've got a sail number? How about that. Where did you find it?
