Melville Beach, WA, AU

Quick fang around at Melville in pretty ballistic conditions.

A bit overdone on the M112 + 7.0 TR9 + 33 CL SL2 combo (6.6 would've been more manageable), but it was still a really fun sail.

I rigged some gear for my son to sail, but it was a bit too strong for him, so he had to sit in the car watching.  Hence I didn't stay out for long.

Heaps of power in the gusts, but the incoming tide meant there wasn't much in the way of flat water on offer.

Good to sail with Lunny and meet Ben. Cool

I nearly didnt get out but what a great decision it was with a river PB 2sec and 5x10. Not many of us out at all getting the flatter water early on with some pretty crazy gusts. Tide at 0.8 was ideal for some runs on the western flats but it got a tad slower with the rising tide chop.

Great to catch up with Ben and Greg and also Mark who will hopefully get onboard with us soon.

Must have been wearing my lucky windsurf undies.

What a session. Fantastic speed conditions for Smelville. Water was relatively flat with some belter gusts coming through. Got a bit more chopped up as the tide was coming in.

Scored 38 knotts on my first run off the wind. Had a few more good runs including a 37 then wind wind was dropping and the tide was coming in. The wind picked up again and was looking promising but with a bit more chop and a boom bent like a banana after an almighty catapault I figured I'd go home happy with my PB. The boom looks rediculous, it's bent upwards right where the harness line is connected.

Great to see Craig and Gregg out on the water going great guns. Congrats Lunny for your river PB's.
