Foilville

fun sesh out in a fair bit of breeze with Darryl for company, who was kind enough to lend me one of his new boards for a try which was very nice and interesting to see where its pro's and con's were compared with my board

anyway was a good day on the water despite a few too many offs but I guess thats what happens when your pushing it on gear that your not 100% familiar with, as I got tired things got worse so called it a day before I broke someone elses very nice toys

How good is WA?

Perfect day of sailing with JJ and Neil, I tried following the NM Master, JJ but could not keep up. Cool Super fun in a good breeze

That was pretty hectic actually. Not a lot felt right but I think it was down to gusty, choppy conditions and made worse by a WeedSpeed fin that liked going sideways (and had more flex than any fin I've seen.) I think a 30+ Nm is very attainable for me....perhaps?

That criminal team member who doesn't use an approved device and whose name shall go unmentioned, said the conditions were not good ,so that was comforting... thanks Jon.

Two days in a row at Fangy's farm. Looks like day two was definately better. Briefly saw Lunny in the distance as I headed out. After yesterday's dissapointment, I decided to go with a Delta to play on the lawn which had alot more water. Wind was ok initially but filled in very late. Good to catch up with the motly mobsters, Busso bangers and 'send it' Woody, who also was official camera crew for the day. Definately a top ten fangy day.

First slalom sail since November - only partially adjusted to the thumping, I guess you do get soft foiling... Laughing

A little underpowered on the 5.8 and forgot that you really need a 45 degree fin at SB but super-fun doing NMs with Neil and Andrew.

Warm sunny and windy. Wind didn't feel like it had any ooomph and was gustier than usual. Checked out point walter a couple of times but I couldn't make head nor tale of the wind over there. Spent most of the time on the isonic then a quick blast toward the end on the f2. Curious to check out how the new leading edge fin would go in the f2. Good to catch up with Jase and Boz.

That was a fun session with the locals, Tim, Lunny, Alan and Ricey. Finally learning the rigging of the Vapor which feels really steady in the gusts. Manta 61 Vapor 6.4 wp 25

Rigged 5.7 Koncept, kept thinking wind would kick in but it did not, so slowish session

Good to see Mark, Alan and Craig

Great set of PBs Mark: feels like we were in a different place

I think I gave up too early - it seemed to pick up as I was driving off

excellent naughty Neil. 30+ is very close.

Thanks for taking a light hearted approach to to the approved devices issue. Many are finding things a bit awkward at present.

Neil, you pipped the nm king on one of his favourite playing fields. Well done!

Good to see JJ posting legal data again. Thanks.

I did not sail today. I felt very tired and lacklustre and slept for about two hours this afternoon instead of sailing, which was very annoying because it was warm and windy, I had a day off, I was not on call... but no energy.

Hopefully tomorrow...

Nice one Woody Cool

JJ you can also squeeze in an NM from the south end of Pengos to the intersection of the shore and the sandbar.  It's tight, so you have to accelerate quickly to get a good one in.

Cheers Greg - funny Neil asked if that run was long enough and I wasn't sure - it was flatter closer to the beach. Will try it next time.

I do like the challenge of crossing the main sand bar mid-run!

Safety Bay is a nice safe spot to do ocean NMs because you end up close to shore rather than half-way to South Africa Smile

I am sorry Boz. Please come out and play again. It wasn't really my fault, Neil made me do it. Laughing

Fangy close but no cigar more later got repair works to finish on my gear, broken mast and board, not like some who sail the windsurfers equivalent of a retirement home, well maybe I’m a bit harsh on you as I have seen you venture into the choppy water. Are you reliving the glory days from CB, 😁
