Inverloch, VIC, AU

Bloody cold and I had to wear a wetsuit Tongue out Summers over with a bang, maybe.

Short session as after the wind came in with the rain, it turned off and I had to swim home. Arr well ,swiming is great for fitness.Laughing I'll just leave the gear at home next time. A good gathering with the usual crew.

Sandy Point. Vic.

The forcast was looking pretty good so I decided to test out my bad back and have a go later in the afternoon. I was super frustrated at how weak I felt after sitting around for a few weeks.

It was not an easy day, although the wind direction was excellent. The wind was coing and going in squalls and I missed the best ones. First run I wasn't sure if it was still windy enough for the 5.2m sail I had rigged when I arrived and saw the sand blowing, so I pugged in my SB87 slalom. Yep! It was windy enough!! Second best 2 sec of the day on that run. Immediatly decided I needed the speed board. But 100m into the upwind run my outhaul rope broke!! Surprised Cant remember that happening before, but it turns out it broke in the cleat, and I do remeber thinging it looked a bit chewed up. Wont ingnore that sign again!

Took me a while floating to get rif of the short broken bit and replace it with the long tail.

Got back and switched boards, only to sail into the the post squall lull. Took quite a while to get back to the bank. I decided the stick with it and just try and sail the squalls so there was quite a bit of walking and waiting. I still missed another 2 good squalls which hit when I was half way back up the course! Yell

I got a couple of half decent ones and called it a day. Probably no more than mid 20's wind strength. Just enough to get going on the gear I was on, but only just.

At least I have some more sailing test data on the Motion now and it looks excellent as expected. I will post the comparisons with the two GW-52's below.

2019, 5.2m KA Koncept. SB87, 27cm Tribal WS, then CA40, Tribal 18cm. Posted from GW-52#1
