Fun cruisy day tryna work out the alpha markers @Fangies, and sailing the wrong ones when it was windyYell and therefore I was sailing too far upwind and killing my speedsSurprised, by the time Chrisso and Decrep explained the proper markers, the wind had diedYell.  But really enjoyable day windsurfing with great peopleCool

What a cracker of an afternoon. John St was supposed to have been booked exclusively for the Mandurah Mob although no-one had told GrumpyNutz who was raring to go.  FirieBob, The Capt'n, Hardz, Rod, and I made up the guest list and The Capt'n's whirly thing nearly jumped of it's bearings when the reading hit 17 knots steady. We were all ready for the off with a brief interlude while G'Nutz locked his keys in the car, quite possibly as part of a cunning plan to foil any roving non-reflective coves ( see Minerals post from last week) but more likely in an inattentive moment of excitement at the 17 knot announcement.  Fortunately Stroppo had just arrived to check on some critical electrical componemts in John Street and he was quickly able to disassemble the rear window, insert his skinny workmate through the resultant orifice thereby rescuing the situation. There was beautiful smooth upwind and until the wind faded it was a great fun session. Certainly I achieved no significant speed but across the wind was awesome fun.  Stroppo rigged up late and joined G'Nuts who was still going strong.

Another great Fangy day without Fangy, we did see him though in his brand new role as driving instructor. Seemed to be doing a pretty good job, no trees knocked down, no smoke coming from the rear wheels, and as far as I could tell, the facial distortion invoved seemed to be more smiles than worried grimances.

Firie and I were doing Hrs, and hardie was going to try and help, but a couple of stuffed gybes was enough to turn him back into alpha man.

Wind was a bit light when I arrived, but while procrastinating on what to rig, it picked up nicely to an 18kt average, wnet with what I wanted to sail, the 48cm board, 5.8 koncept with the 20cm 55deg weedy. This worked very well, nicely powered up but still in control. Wind had a tad too much west in it to run square in the smooth, so I cheated and went downwind on starboard and upwind on port. I figured the amount I was slowed down on Port would be made up for by the time I was likely to spend in the water after stuffing a choppy straboard gybe. Worked OK, my starboard gybes were still a bit slow, but at least I made them all.

Yep , happy with the hour it's my 5th best ever, almost ideal conditions for it apart from the wind being a few degrees too west.

Interesting to see saltynuts testing out the strange tripple fin proto, seems it doesn't go that well in the weed.

Coodanup, WA, AU

I got the call from the little old fella who said it's Hr day young fella, Hr day bugger, that means corners so I start stressing. Get down to Fangland and I'm told the team Alpha Master will be going for Hrs also, yippy preasures off. I tape up my girly boy foot that's been keeping me off the water and head out, all good getting my corners no pressure then I spot Alpha Master chatting like he's at a CWA meeting, oh bugger it's up to me or I'll be sent back to FNQ.

All BS aside, I had such a great sail, every thing felt spot on, got a couple of alright corners untill I realised I'm the backup man, so went a bit too conservative but even then my corners were for me FNQ rippers, got to love flat water. I did try and chase the flying pensioner but he was too slipery, so happy I have 10 years to peak. I did drop one corner but got jammed between board and mast, big bugger how often does that happen, only when it's not needed ha.

Enjoyed a beer with Wazza while the pensioner had a cup of tea, after they buggered off I hung around to talk BS with Salty and the big Strop but he just dosen't know when to stop so I ferked off to my lovely hunny bunny.

Another bloody Pb here, Fangland is Pb heaven, my last Hr Pb was on Arlinton Reef with 3 dropped corners, so this ones a little special cos I had do lots of corners.

Snags if you read this tripe, I so look forward to seeing you here one day mate, I might even have to buy a house here one day so you have a base Cool

Deff a top 10 Fang Day but to quote my mate Herby, life's good Tongue out

Boobays - 22-26knts SSE then S - Day 9 - spot 90%

Had to do noon tide down session (where the lack of wind), because the arvo one was around 17.30, also make the chance to the SSE to come back. Started on SSE then went S (can see the diff on the graph)

Not as fast as yesterday but a great session, had some fantastic dialed in runs down Riskys, was just greeeat. the R side was great too, always a bit faster there.. but Riskys has something that remind me a little bit Sandy,as you are close to the sandbar. Cool

Had a really bad stack at 36 on the righty not sure what happen, the nose went down.. me too ah ah ah, I lost reality for few sec, my sunnies, my hat, ripped some skin off a finger, and my R foot. I was struggling holding my wishbone wiz the skin off so I went to shore the best I could and walked the rest. Thats a first!! Embarassed

on the graph, the + its the stack, the long blue line on the left is the walk!

When back to shore, later around 15, I mesured 33knts!! some shells was just starting to fly.. I think 35+ thats when they go.. I seen it few time, but not this trip. Also if there is flies its probably under 25knts, if you cannot open your car door, there probably 30knts ;)

Not sure if Im sailing tomorrow, we see whats the body says, but it could be the D day, where all the holes line up!!

Misty41, RSR_5.4, Vector21 (been doing some ground touching, so getting smaller)

Like Daffy said, a fin as to take it.. or whats the purpose of it ;)

Happy Days Cool

Well done Bob - you see what you can achieve when you're trying to draw a coat hanger and not a xmas tree .  Congrats on the PB.  The hour and alpha are the only things I've got over you and it seems that may not last much longer.  Great to see you really enjoying your sailing - shame about the company though. BTW - That house thing sounds good too.

Franga, don't fear as I don't own any delta fins Wink

Top of the heap too Man Bra mob - excellent month ladies.

Great team effort gents..In one foul swoop/session, ripped the No1 position away. Didn't realise Firie had it in him these days. All those stories about lazies days in the WA outback must have thrown us off the real game plan. The old fella has come back with vengence. Even Wozza got into the action - hows that shoulder holdingh up mate!!Well done once again and well placed for a run to the EOM standings.
