Fun sail, on the day that should have been. Lots of guys out when I arrived, all but Sammy gone by the time I wallowed back to shore.

38cm board, 5.8 koncept 18cm 50deg starboard assy.

Another fantastic Fangy day, but this time a bit delayed, took a long time for the breeze to get from the ocean to Coodunup.

So a few sailors got impatient and left for greener pastures, but the wait was worth it, plenty of nice flat water and not bad wind.

Only small dissapointment for me was the GW52 getting my hopes up, I had a 37.45 max on the dial and a mid 35 10sec, so I expected at least a mid 36 2s. but ht 37 only happened for 0.2s the other 9 data points were mid to high 35s.

If I continue to only wear the GW52, I think I'll dispense with 10s and set the average figure to 2s

Safety Bay, WA, AU, CA52/Tushy5.8/23vector weedy

Intended to sail Fangys but no wind so high tailed to safety bay as I had limited time and it was already blowing strong there. Started in the pond which was very congested, so headed over to Penquin Is sandbar which was quite choppy on the bear away. Decided to give that away before I killed myself, so back to the pond and doing runs down the beaver with 25. Quite a challenge to get a clear run with all the traffic.  Nice to finish the year with 40 on the dial Smile

Tabou Rocket Wide 108L, NP RSR E6 6.4m, Elmo Pepe Weed 25cm 60º

As per my want this year, plenty of wind till I turned up, sailed Liptons as I didn't want to get a spanking again at Novara, which allowed Hardz To have perfect conditions to nail yet another Alpha PB, well done BudCoolCoolCoolCool

Although the winds were fading quite bad it was a lot of fun actually sailing with someone for a change, twas great sailing with Snides Cheryl and Yoyo who were all being nice to me by not totally destroying my speeds just beating them by a reasonable amount.

Oh well only one more day to go in "2015 the year of disapointment" then the fun shal beging with "2016 the year of redemption"

Well done Hardz, that 28 alpha awaitsCoolCoolCoolCoolCoolCool

Coodanup, WA, AU   JP MR 104, Vapour 6.4, 21 JP weed

Went out at Fangy's late with new boom and a new Elmo'd little weed fin so having some new gear usually puts a mojo on the end result but still had fun although never felt truly powered up. Impaler junior manged to put his head through his (my) sail but a kindly old dude (anyone over 25 in his language!) helped him tape it up - thanks mate!

Thanx Guyz its all about speed really, my gybes werent anything special today, just had good speed across the wind.  I was coming at the marker from upwind giving me a downwind run at it peaking my speed at the marker, then headed upwind at the marker, then slighly downwind before the gybe picking up speed, then gybing maintaining planing as much as possible (17kt minimium) and square back to windward mark.  27 knts is achievable with just more speed.  If I use trackpoint data I have 8 alphas over 27kts, with a highest of 27.876kts.  Doppler I had 8 alphas over 26kts.  I get alpha now.  If I knew how to print screen I'd post it here so you can analyse it.  I wear my gps on my bouyancy vest, so no arm movements occur.

Great alpha pb hards! That speed across the wind is def the key to a great alpha.. Nice vid Elmo I'm impressed with that data on the footer,is that a Sony thing? Sorry I didn't hear you..was struggling to sail upwind on a 41 wide board with a 15cm fin. Great to catch up and hope to see you where the whales ended up..

One word of warning here, don't copy hards and wear the gps on your chest! I've just analysed his file and all his gybe entries have inaccurate data. Although wearing on the chest stops arm movements in the gybe affecting the results, unfortunately the GPS is shielded by the body when you lean into the gybe. You'll get more accurate results wearing on the shoulder or head.

This PB of his has a +/- value of over 0.8kt so it could have been any where from 26kts to 27.7kts

Looks Like I'm gonna have to wear the GPS on my head/helmet, bugger I like looking at it after each runYell, but as Decrep pointed out I may have robbed myself of a 27.7kt alpha, which is what my Trackpoint Alpha was 27.876 kts, so I think I may have dudded myselfEmbarassed, but lets not forget the fun that windsurfing is, and the feeling it provides!!!!!!
