After not windsurfing for about 6 weeks I thought I was going to be so unfit and useless, pleasantly surprised on both fronts. Pretty choppy with the high tide but happy with all my numbers today and I only dropped one gybe, the last one. Had a quick stop in my hour to adjust mast track and lines. I was tempted to go to coods for a TT reunion but slugger informed me there was no toast left.

Late session at Liptons, took it easy as the knees are still not right, managed just shy of 30 mins before they started to make their presense known.

Still very happy to get that much.

Great to catch up with Kato, Decrep and see Mr Windtech blasting around.

Groovy

Fangyland with T1, The PartyBarge, SimmerSCR7.8 and FF24

I got the call from Teletubby 1 that it was time to down tools. I, of course, excused myself from responsible student mode and high tailed it out of Uni. By the time I got on the course, there was the threat of a decent breeze. Huey changed his mind shortly after that and went the more usually asthma attack on a pack-a-day sort of puff.

T1 was keen and showed me some skills early on. The numbers are not really indicative of how much I got towelled up by the Tubby, and it wasn’t until he showed me how the Teletubby Gybe Routine, that day improved.

The routine as far as I can tell involves carrying a decent amount of speed into your gybe, but at the halfway point, throw everything away, and simply walk on water back to the 250metre marker with hands raised in triumph.

In between times, we wandered all over the shop, that includes a brief visit to Yunbas - the tide was too low for it to be safe. Once we were back over the Coodanup side, there was just general ‘do a bit of this, do a bit of that’ and for myself that involved seating the momentum muscle home nice a comfortably on the downhill runs. Alas, as soon as I presented the harness spreader bar with Full Bargearse Engaged, the spreader bar denied all responsibility and departed like a Catholic Cardinal…but broken.

And that was the end of the session... Good fun while it lasted, and fab to have scoot with T1 after such break. Top Ten Fangy CluelessCruise on the Estuary Day :-)

I need some fresh excuses for sailing like a total newb. And that is flattering me.First sail in about 6 weeks . No general fitness. No sailing fitness.

First sail on my new Windtech. The board is clearly a good one . The sail was set pretty well. The dud bit was the stringy old bit of gristle and meat connecting the two.

That was the sail I had to have after the break. No damage to the gear or to my self.

Thanks Neil for delivering the board and thanks also the bug repellent t shirty hoody thing . Uber cool. The old bastard cant sail for nuts but he will be coolest looking dude on the beach.

I can only get better from here so its onward and upward with more time on the water.

Good to see you Joe. I thought I'd been teleported back to '97...you haven't changed, not a day over 30 I reckon. Thanks for the tips too, started feeling familiar near the end.

Sorry we missed you Ross, it was the plan to swing by your front yard but time got us in the end.
