Tide until midday, so morning sail today. Wind still indecisive at 10am, so took middle ground of 6.5 Ezzy and 112 Fanatic FSW. Quite rough and hard work but plenty of jumpable ramps and wave faces to gybe on. Had a ball. Wind was consistent 20+ by the time the tide ran out. Sandbanks have shifted so probably 1/2 hour of really good speed sailing out there with the right fin.  Too knackered to care by that stage.

Falcon 89 / 7.0 Mach 1 / Tribal 30

Just Merena and me out. Wind was a bit up and down. Squall came through just after the second bank went under. Wind went almost due east, bottom bank was virtually dead down wind so no good for nautical mile.

was raining on the way out to Holloways so wasn't sure what to expect.....no wind or full on as it had been at home.

Arrived to see Billy and Benny had set up and were waiting for a squall to pass.

Wind was up and down with big holes and blowing southerly, westerly, easterly etc. the water was rough maybe this was going to be

a short session. Used a different boom with different harness lines so spent some time sorting out a comfortable position.!!

Benny deserves a pat on the back for todays effort hanging on to a 7.8 sail on a 135 litre plus board great effort and

his passion for sailing is incredable.......every session he puts in 100%.

Fun session with B1 & Freddo in squally gusty S..SWS..SESW..W..SSW..S blumpy chocolate milkshake conditions.  Freddo sailed really well today taking home the chocolates.

Felt a bit iffy about the wind strength holding up today so rigged the ol' Exo 135 big board with Severne 7.8 OD & 47.5 BP fin- in hindsight, smaller board would have performed much better.

Runs out were testing the ol' suspension pins heading straight into some ugly chop...but good fun heading back in.

Fyi, when wind is SSW, sail to the Shark buoys then keep sailing about the same distance again for a straight NM if you could be bothered...

Maybe another session in tomorrow Cool

Dave - awesome man.

Troy - a great solid session from you too, well done.

Better that the shite we had to put up wiith at Holloways. I gave up after one run out and back, It was crap. Im confident that B2 requires dual knee and hip replacements. He just kept on smashing into the oncoming munted swell. Fred, who already has hip issues must have taken his pain killers earlier in the arvo as there didnt appear to be any slowing him down. The lads have already dictated the breeze conditions. It was everywhere. Just couldnt work which direction it wanted to work to today. Never mind, well done lads on your efforts.

Benny, I think I actually need to get lessons from Kelly and Cam. Those 2 are speed machines!!!

Actually thought 2 PB's for the day was a good session then she who must be obeyed put me back in my place when she showed me her data and she had 4 PB's for her first day out on the Fox 105.

Hey Dave do you know what sail rang you get out of the 105 Fox. I am a bit interested in them. Have run Isonics for a long time. But they just seem to fall apart They don't like the real choppy sea we get up here and they end up in the wheelie bin after two seasons. . My much luved 97 ISO has Great sail range. Handles everything from 5.4 to 7.8m. Do you think the Fox can do the same. 🤔 Cheers Ed.

Ed I think it would handle that sail range. Merena has only used it with a 6.0 so far, I had one quick run and I reckon you could go smaller and 7.8 would be no problem. Merena's first words were that it eats chop and everybody that has ridden one says the same. Jibes insanely quick, I fell off when I jibed it because it came around so quick. Pretty sure snorkel has one also so he may be able to add something. New model coming out next season so you can get a good deal at the moment if they have any left.

Thanks Dave sounds like my kind of board. unfortunately I Have already blowen the toy budget for the year had to buy a new sail and new boom also got a new mast but the boys from North Sails gave me a new one under warranty. 97 ISO should hang in there till the end of the year have done some repairs to it and made it stronger. I will be keen to try and get a slightly used Fox for next season. If you get a chance see if you can steel it from the good wife and put a big rig on it and abuse it for a couple of hrs. Will be keen to see what you think of it. 🤔😃. Ed.
