dr cam (40716km): Clifton Beach, QLD, AU SE wind 15 -20 knots Seas Rough .Gear RRD X fire 98 Tribal SW 31 Evo 10 7m2. Nice way to start the new year .Overslept & missed the GI boat so had to make do off the home beach .
Big seas with the cyclone hanging around so an interesting launch & then ride over to Double Island .Had some great squirts between the rolling swell on the island reef flats . Happy ...!!!
GatorPete (123109km): Lake Weyba, QLD, AU. Light gusty ENE again. Windsurfer Lt/ 7.0 Cruz
Gaz (13974km): Kermit, 5.8 Koncept. Just a quick sail in between rides. Holloways doesn't get much better than today. Two sails in a week. I think that is a record for me in the last 12 months.
Eddy (23804km): Port Douglas, QLD, AU Yer Had a play around session with Benny today He was keen for a early start, around lunch time. something i don't normaly do.So rigged Billy's old no cam '6.5 tushingham 'on 105 Fox with 37.5 black project fin also one of Billy's hand me downs..Felt rusty and not sail fit as i haven't had a deacent sail for awhile,i sailed like crap and dropped a couple of gybes early in the session which annoyed me a bit.. Had a bit of a' hang over' from last night which didn't help, but i got better as time went on.Had some good fun drags with Benny who was really hard to catch fully lit up on 7.8m race sail..He was totally ''on fire'' the whole time, don't know how he managed to hang on to that big rig in a stiff breeze and a choppy sea, well done mate..Think we both had a fun session nothing to sesious and maybe spent too much time chatting..Did a few hard laps just before knock off time just to get a few km's in..guess it was worth rigging up for cheers Ed..
Benny McCarthy (14442km): Port Douglas, QLD, AU Happy New Year FNQ mobsters!!! Did the scenic drive to latte land today (where the rich & famous frolic) for a fun session with Ed the "Fox"! Wind was a pretty consistent SE...SSE at times 15-20kn. Water state was a bit rough, but there were reasonable patches here & there for some fun little blasts. Freddo kindly lent me his GW-60 whilst my other GPS gear is being organised & in transit (let me tell you, the GW was firmly secured in an armband aquapac with double lanyards & a roll of electrical tape just to make sure- If it was going anywhere, I'd be going with it)... Ed looked like he was having a bit of fun!- think we both caught some air off the swell on quite a few occasions. The Fox may have racked up some reasonable K's as well! We had some good runs sailing in close quarters The GPS gave a faulty- top 2sec reading towards the end of the sesh- read a 70.35 on the dial after a little stack... In reality the top 2sec on the dial was 27.3... which I thought was ok considering the conditions... So I've just put in my top 5X10 in & reported the glitch to KA. More gybing practice today... my NY resolution... Would hardly call the alpha a gybe... Great to read Cam, WA & Gaz got out for some fun today too! Terrific way to start the NY!- as Ed says "it was worth rigging up for" Used Futura 122 Severne OD 7.8 BP Sabre 42.5 "Long May our Big Jibs Draw!"
