Holloways Beach, QLD, AU

A quick desperation sail at the local with B2, under somewhat threatening sky's and a very southerly breeze which was squally and kept swinging around making life a bit tough. Hoping tomorrow see's the end of the presipertation up here in FNQ and turns the lights back on bringing a more consistent SE.

Great to be out none the less. Used: The Tank, 7.8 OD R4, BPR 475..... & boardies Tongue out.

Mackay, QLD, AU

Better condirtions than yesterday, even saw some sun for a short while. Wind gusty as... 10 to 20+kNts and really South, so was pretty good for jumps but not so good for speed. Good fun overall.

Could have hung round a bit longer for the water to flatten but wind dropped out and I was getting cold and uncoordinated.

6.5 Ezzy, Fanatic 113 FSW and full steamer (yes Bill I'm a sook)

Holloways Beach, QLD, AU

Short little arvo sesh with King Bill after knocking off work.  Overcast & drizzly with a few squalls coming through that didn't really pack much punch...  Wind was quite shifty & confused.

Thought it was going to be a bit windier, as it looked ok on arrival, so plugged in the 37.5 BP Sabre fin into "Big Woody" 124 Futura with Severne OD 7.8.  Had to really stay hard upwind to avoid a walk of shame.

Have to say the weather has been very odd so far this year- cannot wait for some nice sunny days with steady breeze!

Still sailing in boardies... Laughing  Good company from B1 today- still got you on the Naughty mate! Wink

Hopefully we'll get another sesh in tomorrow.

Port Douglas, QLD, AU Sailed with Andrew and Ed at port this afternoon.  Was promised 25 knots but at 1:30 when I got to the beach it was less than 10 knots. Only took small gear so rigged an Aerotech 6M on the 90 L Futura with a big fin, Tribal @WS33 and waited for the wind to come back. It did come in on several occasions with long periods of light wind in between, so we all spent as much time wallowing in the slop as we did powered up.

After Andrew and I called it a day. Ed found the wind and was off over the horizon as we packed up and left.  E I hope you have some good numbers to show for your efforts.  Great sailing with you both.

Ian

Port Douglas, QLD, AU Had no intentions of going for a sail today.. Had a big gym session this morning and had to get my wife's 'sorry ass 'home from the mossman markets  as they all got trashed from the crappy weather...Andrew rang up and said he and Ian were ready to race and it wasn't that windy at the beach.Yer wasn't that much breeze on arival so rigged 7.8m gastra on 117 Isonic..Easy choice as its the only toy i got that isn't broken..Wouldn't of mattered what you rigged it would of been wrong as wind went from 10 to over 20 kts..Had a good blast in the last Quater solid 20kts but the boys had lost interest and packed up..Big Isonic handled ok with big fin, mast back and nose up. was a bit of a handle full in the gybes dropped two out the back again. Was thinking of doing a few' bear aways' to get a bit of speed happening but i was fully lit up in a choppy sea and getting low on fuel..Gym session and a wind surf all to much..thought it might end badly and i wasn't in the mood for a long swim home with a heap of thrashed gear just on sundown..Was keen to get a few more kms in but a big rain squall came through and the light was fading so i lost interest..Not sure if it was worth rigging up for..but it was nice to catch up with the boys and have a chat they boyh seemed in good spirits...Cheers ED..

Daz, WOW - that sounds like "The Walk of Shame" to beat all "Walk of Shames". Hope you heal up soon mate.

For the rest of us reprobates, it was a good turn out in very trying conditions, right up and down the coast line it would seem. Well done gents.
