Wollumboula Lake, NSW, AU

Futura 101, OD R5 6.2, Keefy Delta Special

First sail in nearly two months and my first outing on the new 6.2 Overdrive R5. Conditions were pretty good with a strengthening southerly blowing across Lake W. Fantastic turn out with about 10 windsurfers and about the same amount kiting.

From the review of my overlay, my 2 second peak was achieved on my last run just before my arms and fitness gave in. Pretty happy I went out for one last run!

Wollumboula Lake, NSW, AU got a call from kenny at 7.30am saying he is on his way and was at albion park and there was no windCry i reassured him thats because we are getting a southerly and it hasn't arrived yet, another text ,nigel, dezza, tim , all on there way and stiil no wind by by .10 30

wind kicked in at around 11.am and kenny was out there like a rat up a drain pipe on his 6.3, Gav, 6.3,tony polony 6.3. i was rigging my 6.4,Tim 7/0

Dezza arrived and said she was going to rig a 5/7 I'M thinking to my self Dezza "your a gustbuster "get your balls  out of your handbag , next thing she rolls out the 6/2 and rigs it with  heaps of down haul with out a winch , i'm thinking to my self "she's really got the testosterome pumpingSmile

also good to see ROAR turn up and rig a 5.9 and Image result for brown noser pics a fin , and "no" the fin is not for sale big fella Smile

also great to see Dezza  mixing it with the boys on the 6.2 "with no winchLaughing"

with the wind prediction for the next few days MT has the week off and wouldnt mind some company as long as the wind is ssw,s,sse, and se , as predicted 25[to 35knts

tricky MT recons a sse to se at 25 to 35 will get into the lake Wink

Wollumboula Lake, NSW, AU

Falcon 79l, OD 6.2, CRAIG COLE Weedie, tuned and fitted by KEEF

Great day at Lake W, was a bit worried the wind wouldnt turn up but it did. Checked out what the others were rigging - 6.4's and 6.2s, decided Id be ok on the 5.6, went I mentioned that to Keith, he said "s/be ok if you want to float around..." I could tell by the look on his face I was being a wuss, so back to the car and pulled out the 6.2. The newly tuned up CRAIG COLE fin felt great, loved it, had a great ride today, felt secure and only hit the bottom once, thought Id have scored a bit faster but cant be putting the pedal down hard enough :(

A really good windsurf, Lake W is a great place in a southerly, I was enjoying the scenery until Keith said had I seen the dead pelicans...that was the deciding factor for me to call it a day and get out just as the wind blew in hard

Yeah, so much for taking it easy... Was a great day and even though there was some chop in some parts, the flat water made up for it when it came to gybe. So addicted to this sport it's not funny!

...and congrats Dezza on the Alpha PB too! How did the Gopro footage end up? After Keefy's saga I'd be a bit gun-shy using one without a floatie or something.

got some go pro running now and can see all the mistakes I'm making in stance and harness not staying in place. Won't see me with a rigging winch for a while yet, not 100% I need one, those ODs just down haul so well with the 4 rollers. Will leave the sail size handbag at home next time. Keef you might need to put the fin prices up a bit, economic conditions and exchange rates indicate the fin market is a growth sector.

Dezza you will need either a bigger handbag or a winch for that 7.8 , trust me an extra 5 cm of downhal will make all the difference when the wind picks up Wink

ill keep the fin prices the way they are because yoiu cant buy too many 17cm fins that will drive a 6.2mt sail as well as feeling safe when you hit a bit of chopWink
