Morning session at Valentine, NSW, AU- patchy 5-17kts SSW - all the best stats from here and just extra distance included from the pm session.

 7.5m GT turbo- Rs4 ( 111ltres ) - 39cm C3 sting pointer

Got an hr of not bad sailing with the big kit - 90% on the plane as long as I didn't sail too far over and lose the wind. Starting to put some gybe tips into practise and it made a big difference to my stabilty!

Went out for lunch then to Coal.

7m NCX - 90ltre RS2 - 33 select pointer then 33 makani weedy

Looked like the gusts were getting up near 18kts+ and I really wanted to use smaller gear. Would have been easier on the RS4 and 7m .

Started with a pointer but the weed was a pain. Much less stressful with a weedy.

It was a pain getting out of the bay as I was subplaning and couldn't point past the jetty. Got out with 10' to spare the first time . Came in later to change fins and the first go I wasn't going to clear it so I beachstarted and sailed back into the Sw shore for another go and got out..I can't uphaul that combo so there was plenty of incentive to not fall in..Laughing

Once out ther there was some lovely gusts between Coal and the sand islands. I love that combo in 15-18kts! So light and easy, effortless..so long as I don't fall in on a lull..Laughing Tried to make sure I gybed in a gust so if I muffed it I could waterstart. Caught one great gust and went for it and sailed out the other side midgybe into nothing.. splat..grr took a while to get another 12kt gust to get going..

Pity we don't get more consistent 15-18kts days..

Only me out at Valentine - Lyds and Jeff went out foiling after I packed up. Greg came in just before I went out at Coal so all on my lonesome there too..Cry Wink

Think  I saw a turtle just off the jetty as I slogged out.

GZ85 and foil and 6.5m, wind picked up, had a nasty stack and foil seperated from board!

Last sail on the GZ85.
