Buff Pt, Budgewoi Lake, NSW

FF70, 16cm, North 6.2

Initially light and patchy, but didn't have to wait long for it to kick in. Lake a little lower than last week, but still not much flat water around once the wind picked up. Bruce was blasting around with his new fin looking very happy and holding on to a 6.6m. Ian was looking good off the wind as well.

Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

15-25ish knot westerly. Sue was out when I arrived. Rigged 5.7 R8 overdrive and Fanatic Ray 102 ,18 delta. Just when I was thinking there would be no one else out  Andrew turned up and a bit later Bruce, both on speed boards. Wind was picking up so swapped to the Fanatic Falcon speed (51 wide ). 14 XT50 fin

Had a few nice runs but not alot of flat water particularly when the wind picked up , but still a good day (No.3) on the water.

10-20kts W-WSW then occ 23kts plus Peely Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU level 0.42

6.2mM2OD- 87ltre iso- 21.5cm FF

then one run 80ltre iso - 18cm tribal

Still really crook so rigged for comfort rather than speed and only a short session. Pity I was crook as that's a good combo for gybing and there was some flatwater.

The flatwater was there but there were lines of dryish bergs you had to pass through. I had a few goes with the Fangy and made it through with  a few big tugs.

Came in for a rest and decided to try the tribal in the smaller board. I put a big one ( 18cm) in to deal with the chop on the way there and back. Got a good puff and thought I'd get a better nm than that but I was off the plane a bit at the start and it was pretty choppy. Tore through the flats and several lines of big bergs at the bottom..holy crap type sailing .. got 30kts..Undecided It felt a lot faster although I suppose each tug would have washed off speed. I decided it wasn't worth the risk so I'd avoid bergs. It had died down and I was pretty buggered and coughing badly so I just walked , slogged back.

Just me for most of the time. Ian went out when I took the small board out and Andrew came across from Buff. Bruce went out as I was leaving.

It  looked like it was coming in but I am hoping I have enough left to sail again this week so I went home.
