Headed off to the Pit for the day with Kato. Tom, Mal & Richie turned up too.
Got there too early and had to wait for the tide to go out before i could get in. Wind was light and NW so we just chatted until about 10:30. Got on the water and then followed Kato up to the Yanakie channel, it was a crazy downwinder to get there and then a nice long run. The wind swung a bit so it was a prick to get back.
Once i finally got back Kato said he'd show me Sandy Point B. Sailed all the way down wind the other way to get there and by the time we did the wind had gone WSW and increased. Completely maxed out on *EDIT*KATO's old 6.6 i got half way back and then had to walk beause i was just too overpowered and the standing pressure waves from the tide in the channel were not fun on the isonic with no rocker.
Finally back to the car, rigger my 5.9 Koyote and finished the session with this. Nice and comfy, (probably could've stuck with the 6.6 in the end as the wind backed off). Quick unrig and get out before the tide came in too far, and a mad dash back to Invy for barefoot bowling.
A good day, but no where near the distance i wanted.
