2705 days ago 2 categories Liptons underpowered rigged too small, but enjoyed myself nonetheless, Manta 54, TR7 5.9m, Delta 20/55, the delta works with a thin tail board, felt sweet today woulda loved 5kts more wind.

2705 days ago Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU. bonus sail as I was able to take the arvo off work . As usual I was overly optimistic and rigged the 5.8 in the hope of things to come. Put that on the Falcon113 at first and then the CA52. Should have gone with the 7.0, I never learn.... Still, I had a pretty fun sail, just wasn't enough power for the bear aways. Happy camper

2705 days ago 1 categories rigged the 5.8 plugged the 19cm 55deg into the 48 and noticed an extremly wet rear foot pad, can't be right board hasn't been in the water for ages. and the bubbles coming out of my grind marks, to give the pad more grip isn't a good sign either! So swaped the fin over to the 53, which wasn't a smart move either, it's not deep enough for the wider board, should have gone up to the 20cm. So I spent a lot of time going sideways, especially trying to go upwind in the choppy chanel. But once I was in the smooth, things were a lot better, managed the whole session without hitting the bottom, so probably could have gone a bit deeper.

2705 days ago Another TTFD, but kissed Mother Earth a bit too hard. Post story later.
The last study session before the last exam tomorrow. Feeling totally over logical equivalence and Boolean algebra it was time for a quick splash before snotgobbler duties.
Some clown over the other side of the estuary forgot to put the plug in last night. It was a bit of a surprise given the usual suspect Muppet is a soggy pile of fur in a donga in Karrathastan. That left me with bugger all water in the bath for me to play in, and a result the channel from S Bend was touch and go for depth. Probably a bit too much touch and not enough go.
I had arrived a bit early, before the breeze kicked in, so I chucked in the Party Barge, Koncept 7.5, and Fat Fangy 22. Tip toed out to the channel and charged off along the shore with only a touch or two. Crabs nil.
The Fat Fangy Delta did its thing and I got up the top in good time for some mucking about on the barge. All was looking mighty fine until I got too lazy and tried to sneak up the inside across the rocky patch in front of the top cap park. Faint click, slight tap, and before I could take evasive action, major clunk. Ooh that sounded bad. A sort of expensive sounding clunk, like the one when you back the car into something you didn't know was there. I kept going because its too shallow and rocky to start there, and with that sort of clunk, I knew I had fairly munted the fin already. Once up at the top end, I inspected the damage and peeled away the bits of broken fibreglass. Yep, probably not going to be able to polish that one out.
Oh well, time to go and pick the snotgobblers anyway. Bashing around on the barge,Top Ten Fangy Day for sure.

Very enjoyable sail, started off just cruisy then the came in so from cruising to blasting. Very happy to sail with toby on his last day here and catch up with some of the river locals, great day. I did grind my fin through the sand/grit on the last run, about 50mm in
