Fun sunny easterly with morts, shane, cliff and young fergus. Great to see an easterly in mid April. The wind was forecast to be 14kts max and was about that. Gusty for Albany it was great to be on the warer. Morts said we needed distance and I was hesitant as i have a nasty cough but it did not appear during the arvo on the water. At the end we ran out of wind but it was good sailing up until then.

Stretch I probably would hit the back button on your browser about ......... now!

Had plans of eating pies & watching the footy until I received a sms from Steve asking if I was sailing today. Thought he must have been delirious from all that flying around the world he'd been doing recently but when I checked Seabreeze there was to my surprise steady Yellow arrows Surprised

Had just finished rigging when someone in Steve's van pulled up & a doppleganger of Steve got out. When he spoke though it sounded nothing at all like Steve, more like someone who'd smoked about 1000 ciggies one after the other. Wind was blowing so that mystery could be left for later.

The wind for the first & last 25km was pretty marginal with lots of holes in it but the middle 100kms was quite pleasant but still some little lulls. Good weather for the big board & was able to sail for about the first 2.5hrs without a break as I foolishly thought I won't stop until Steve does or I drop a gybe. I forgot that when Steve does distance rest breaks are a luxury Yell

Unexpected good conditions make for very enjoyable sails Cool

Welcome home Evets. Looks like you had a nice long dip to wash off the jet lagLaughing

How close is the Morts/Evets combo! Great distance from both of you. ( that almost qualifies as a 'quick splash' in PJ's world:-)

Sorry to hear you could not get the set up right Shane. I have had it happen many times and not been able to explain it. Today my boom kept slipping down. 30 mm low or high changes whether i am comfortable or not. So many different settings change the feel. Had moved my mast base about 7mm forwards in the board today to try to keep the nose down in strong wind. Felt ok today but will need to try in stronger wind.

Our numbers are very close Morts. The alpha and hour show how close we are. I wonder if we will get another easterly this year?

Fangy jet lag gone. Was doing well staying nealy on WA time. Then was awake 30 +hours straight on the journey home.  Just cannot sleep on planes. That threw me out a bit. That was last Sunday. Ok now.

Hope the northern MM get the forecast wind this weekend. Should be good up there. Hope youn are all safe from the public holiday stink boat skippers.

Bummer that you couldn't get comfortable Shane. I was not overpowered on the 6.8, actually underpowered at times & you can usually carry more sail than me. Maybe the 7.8 would have been worth a try?

Rest breaks? I thought i would keep sailing until i saw you stop Morts. Then i decided you were possibly doing the same thing. Dropped 4 gybes in the first hour. Marginal wind and not worked out how to gybe be the 91 in those conditions. I think stretch missed the good conditions of the weekend.

I did wonder if pj was sailing today Fangy, that would boost out distance. If not our paltry effort will probably have to do.

Dang, missed it by that much!... Well done fellas, seems I brought the doldrums down with me today. I even left my small gear and my GPS at home - surely that should have helped!
