Lilacs Jp54SP Delta 18 sl TR16 5.9

Just wanted a gentle sail as tomorrow looking good and sore from last couple of days, Congrats to Shane, went quickly on his first run of the day.

Delta spinning out on mile run, adj outhaul slipped to end of boom, had ext at 20 instead of 16 when rigging so could see sail too flat, mast on wrong side of cams when ext was adjusted, slipped on weed on deck during a gybe, low speed catapult after one gybe, have used expletive quota for whole of Feb on first day Yell

Measured ave 16 gust 21 then 30 mins later ave 18 gust 24. I will in future use a 6.3 or 7.0 in those readinge..... note to self!

One of the best speed sailing sessions I've when I havent cracked a 40 or a PB, beautiful steady consistent wind about 18 to 25kts, I was buggered from yesterday, so rigged my TR9 6.3m, which is lighter and uses a smaller boom, so the rig was easy peasy sailing compared to the tr16, but the TR16 is definietly faster, sailed for 1 hr 45mins today, before the lactic acid burn kicked in, I reckon if i'd sailed the TR16, the Lactic Burn would've kicked in after 30 mins.  Thanx heaps to Decrepit who rescued the destroyed pepeweed,  made it sailable, no one spin out, compared to about 15 yesterday.

Well worth staying the extra day, but I can't stay for tomorrow so it's bound to be good!

More wind today so used the 43cm board, 5.4 koncept and the 18cm starboard assy fin.

Joined Sam and Alby chassing NMs, Still Captain slow today, felt much faster than it was.

Great conditions, flat water and good wind, loads of fun even though I was slower than I thought I should be.

Here's my GPSVisualizer tracks.

Recalculated with Realspeed (standard programme) at home.

Tabou Manta 54cm, NP RSR E7 7.0m, Pepe Weed 21cm

Lilacs, Woo hoo finally made it down here with an awesome breeze.

Rigged the 7.0 expecting to get spanked and have to come in and change down but actually felt quite comfortable (although a bit of a handfull at times).

There was no real plan for today untiul Decrep asked if I was going to tray for a naughty, I wasn't expecting to due to the low tide so followed his advice and went for it, a bit cautious on the first run which ended up a 35.3Nm, game on

Next couple of runs had talky telling that I was nudging a 36, it was great fun, thena great run with two nice big squirts towards the end had Talky telling me I cracked a 37 it got Realspeeded as per usual but I'm still stoked.

At the end of the day there were 6 +35kn NM's with 4 of them which would have been PB's.

A fantastic arvy on the water in a very special place with a great crew out.

Hope tomorow delivers as well.

Woo Hoo

Mike I wonder if the weed has just enough drag on those lower tides to knock a bit of speed off, even though you feel nicely powered up. Well that's always been my excuse Embarassed

Shane 37 on the small board, your flying! Stoked for you Cool

Not sure if the Lilacs Cup is on again but there are some worthy contributors there, topped off by a smashing 36! Consistent runs above 35 is awesome, well done Elmo!  Laughing

Don't think I've heard you swear much Steve and you say you've used your expletive quota for Feb, what's that 2? Tongue out

Great sailing everyone sounds like a lot of fun, bit disappointed no ones thanked me for going back to work & making the wind better Yell
