Billy (10637km): Green Island, QLD, AU After a night in the "Lux Suite" I met a very hungover Boxy and the entourage - B2 and Edward "The Miserable and Grumpy One" . We were all hoping for an increase from yesterdays breeze, but alas, it wasnt to be. To be fair, it wasnt all that unpleasant. The sun was out, the water was sensational, crystal clear and the breeze was 17 ish knots in the AM. It was also very easterly which took out the speed strip today and I think every one just enjoyed cruising across the flats. Couldnt get to far up wind past the 4 bouys today so it was just a morning to be enjoyed. Plenty of kiters out today enjoying the waters and was great to weave in and out of the lines. Took the early bus home after the easterly breeze just died to under 15 kts and fluttered in and out afyter midday came and went. No complaints though, sensational day with a great bunch of lads. Used: CA SL108, 40 Sting 2, 7.8 OD R4.
Benny McCarthy (14442km): Green Island, QLD, AU Nice little wind down session with B1, Ed the 🦊 & Boxy (who appeared to be winding down from a night out on the town)... Wind actuals didn't live up to the forecasts today- no chances to really light it up... Surprisingly dropped down to as low as 13 knots at times after midday... From then on, it was 'lucky gust' conditions for those of us who were still out on the water.
Pretty sure we all had some great fun! Water temperature and clarity was just brilliant!! GI is one of my favourite places to sail ~ it really is a windsurfer's paradise!!!
Forecasts are still looking the goods for the guns going over tomorrow
Fingers crossed, maybe lucky enough to get a local sail in before the long weekend concludes... Used Severne OD 7.8 Futura 122 & BP Sabre 42.5 "Long May our Big Jibs Draw!"

Eddy (23804km): Green Island, QLD, AU Yer GI was a bit of a non event today..took free ride gear over hoping for 20 kts of breeze but it didn't happen, wasn't sail fit so wouldn't of gone the distance any way..Decided to annoy Billy and Benny for awhile and hit them up for a few drags which was all i was good for today anyway..lost interest at lunch time and went and had a sleep on the beach for awhile using the good wife for a pollow... 105 FOX NO CAM 7M...
Ian (2269km): Port Douglas, QLD, AU - First sail in a long time - Sailed with Andrew. We were both underpowered and as the wind slowly dropped, a sail change didn't help.
Andrew (2314km): Port Douglas, QLD, AU Had a sail with the 7.2 V8 and Atomiq - for the first hour I had a lot of fun = Ian came down for his first sail since May - when he arrived I told him to rig his 6m which he did, and by the time he hit the water the bloody wind dropped off - for the next hour there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth - eventually I bit the bullet and came into give the 7.8m S Type a go = and there wasn't even enough for that - Ian had a horrible time out there - most disappointing!!! |
