Peel Inlet, WA, AU.  FF113/GPS7.3/TWS33, then FF89/TWS29. Just me and the kiters this arvo, with Yoyo joining the fray later in the piece. Tide was up so it was nice to fin up and blast through the chop.  Very enjoyable sail just hooning around having fun Cool

Coodanup, WA, AU

Fungees for a bit of exercise on the late shift.  Swapped battons with Fangman and Fin as they got off the water.  Just happy to get some TOW and another good day.  Had Windxtasy for company on the water and a chat while derigging.  Was feeling a lot better after a sail even though it was a quick one.

Fangyland, a beautiful cruisey session on the old Party Barge. FF24 Simmer SCR7.8. 14-15 knots for the most part with the breeze building a knot or too late in the arvo ( just when I had to get out!). Post the whole story later.

I arrived on the patch to find NoFin looking lonely and with no sign of any Peskies on the plot either. Huey wasn't super enthusiastic and with the forecast indicating 14-16 knots, I went for the Barge and lots of sail. NoFin decided his life was lacking in challenges and so he thought he would try my heavily modified 90's vintage Windtech race board.

I hit the water and after getting up and out of the Nairns end and into the clear water, hit the cruise control and switched off the brain for the arvo. The Barge’s prodigious weight and length make chop sailing across the estuary a comfortable exercise and easy to just relax and sail. Autopilot engaged. On the flats, the tide was moderate, so depth wasn’t an issue anywhere, and with the weed on its last legs, there weren’t any hidden monsters there either.

NoFin appeared briefly, but then disappeared back in to swap boards, so for the first hour, it was just me and a few kites. It seemed that post-Nanna nap time, interest in grabbing a sail increased, and Pesky Pacey and Windxtasy even managed to put in an appearance. I had one run down the course following NoFin nice and close, and was busy congratulating myself on how good the video footage was going to be until I realised I wasn’t actually wearing the camera today. So rather than fab footage, I was just annoying smartarse sailing too close.

After a few more tours of the paddock, responsible parenting duties called, so I came in to hand over the baton to Oaf, since our regular nightshift MM, Jonski, was still busy trying to restore his brownie point account after representing MM as Team Brokeback @LG.

Dolphins, rays, ospreys, fish, sunshine, warm water, and enough breeze for a cruise equal an almost unexpectedly good Top Ten Fangy Day.

   The PEEL, fangyland,  WA

Had a go on fangmans old reincarnated speed board 54, (I use a 52 as a regular board??)  I had a lot of trouble getting a fin to

fit the munted box, so ended with something a bit small I think, and the Ka kon 5.8. As soon as I started trying to go up wind

and put some force onto the fin, the board started drifting and spinning out!!!   Yep,,  needs some work on the box, and a "much"

bigger fin,,,,  then it may get going???

After a couple of runs and 15mins I got the old WTK52 out, with El55/18 fin with skirt and things where good again. A nice

pleasant sunday arvo sail,,,,  so good to get on the water.

Nice story, Ross. We spend the last 2 days looking at tourists blocking the view of the 12 Apostles (someone seems to have a real math problem there!) and similar spots. Big thanks again for the fins. We made the big mistake to give all three of them to Hardie to bring them back to your weed farm. We should have kept one or two or three, and dunped some old clothes in the garbage to make the weight limits, but after so many short session, my endorphin levels after two nice days at LG were too high for my brain to function properly. Took at couple of days of driving to Melbourne, a sleepless night at the monster spider-mosqito farm, and lots of company on the Great Tourist Trap Drive to get levels back to normal, and make me realize my mistake. I'll have to spend some time trying to put fillets on my other deltas ... maybe in a couple of months, when temperatures rise enough so expoxy will polymerize in a day or less.

As much as we loved your weed farm, the last couple of days where Lake George showed us the SSE thermals were just as good, and perhaps even better. Maybe you should have joined the MM Brokebacks after all? I'm sure they would have found some space for your makeup somewhere..

Peter, nice little sting in the end of the tale. I am stoked you got to sample some weedy spots as well as the waves on your trip. The solid Abany breezes off the cold Southern Ocean and the LG  SSE's  And yes LG is on the list - it just interferes with Uni for the time being. Bon Voyage for the rest of your trip.
