Fangyland with Frank. I think I might have timed my splash pretty well on the money for once. I hit the water just before 10 and sailed for a couple of hours, planing most of the time, until the breeze started to fade at midday. The average breeze was probably only 12 -13 knots, but that was enough to get the Barge310 moving. The tide was falling pretty quickly, so I went for a scoot on the inside of the bergs for a few runs. As you can see on the video, the bergs have thinned out and it's now possible to thread a course through them. The outer line of bergs are still deadly thick, and even on the berg busting Barge/FF24 combo I got some very solid tugs.

For a light wind session, I really enjoyed the cruise around the paddocks. I am quite liking this light wind stuff and I fear I am getting soft...I might have to join the OMK mob if I continue this way.  Otherwise not much to report. Frank was being an idiot and trying to use his Garmin Guesstimatix GPS. It didn't work as usual. But for me, lots of wildlife, lots variation in the water with the run-off from the river mouths mixing with the salty stuff and even a bit of sunshine. Top Ten Fangy Day.

First run through the bergs inside Grumpynuts. Stingrays were out basking in the weed.

Reverse direction, the run downhill.

Maree try and organise your visit for when there is a bumper crop of weed and then you can get a nautical mile of smooth stuff to play in LaughingCool

😲 our home water is like that but only 750 to km run think I’d get tied with that long a run😅

Looks good! Budgys had a lot of rain and is up 0.5m so there won't be any flatwater there for a long time! Frown Pity. There is some good wind due this week but it will be a chopfest..

Hey Sue Laughing At the moment the smooth is all from the lee of the bergs. Once the bergs break up, if there is not some underlying weed growth, we could be in for a choppy season. I am not sure if last year's bumper crop of surface algae and debris has smothered the underlying bottom growing weed, because at this stage, wherever there was heavy surface mat last year, there is now bare dirt...Undecided
